About the Author

Lew & Ginny have explored the mountains and deserts of California, and the northwest to Mt. McKinley, most of the fifty states, Canada and remote Mexican villages. Their guides reflect their knowledge of the land and their concern about the care and conservation of their beloved Sierra. All maps and sketches were by Mr. Clark. Trail notes were taken as they made their journeys into the mountains for many years. As a back country ranger with Yosemite National Park and Grand Teton National Park, and as a ranger naturalist at Sequoia National Park and Death Valley National Mounument, he felt that something more than a flat map and mileage list was essential to really enjoy and appreciate the mountains. This interpretative point of view, they hope will give a fuller injoyment to any trip the hiker, fisherman, or just families camping.
