4.0 out of 5 stars Great art, not so great layout, October 1, 2010
This review is from: Yoshitaka Amano: The Collected Art of Vampire Hunter D (Paperback)
First, I am a huuge fan of Yoshitaka Amano. Huge.

I have many of his art books and am always searching for more, just cant get enough of the art.

As such, the art in this book is fantastic, it even comes with a short story by D's creator.

My only complaint is the way the book is physically made. it is pretty short width-wise but thick and long; the pages are very thick high quality paper... what this translates to is that it is difficult to turn the pages without creasing up the book pretty back (especially on the spine) and a lot of the art is difficult to see since you can never really see far into the inner part of the page, by the binding. I really wish they wouldve made this wider instead of thicker. otherwise this is a pretty nice book and easy to fit on bookshelves.

personally i would recommend Coffin instead, its a much better artbook.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous, March 22, 2010

Cool layout/design. The collected art is, of course, pretty repetitive but it makes a very nice printed object.
