"The story has laughter, angst, love and plenty of sexual tension that your ready to yell 'Get it on already!' Way to get my emotions going." Monica E., Goodreads review
"This book was so captivating and engaging I read the whole thing in 1 day...The story was well written, the plot was engaging and the twist will leave your jaw hanging wide open." Elle M., Goodreads review
"If you are looking for a second chance love story with some suspense and funny banter mixed in, this is the story for you."  Charity F. Goodreads review
"There was plenty of deceit, cover-ups and even infidelity, all leading to a "whoa" ending. The relationship between Allie and Sam built beautifully and believably along the way... something I really appreciate in a romantic suspense. All in all, this was a very entertaining and suspenseful story with a juicy plot and unexpectedly devious characters. I enjoyed it from start to finish and will be putting author Mallory on my list of authors to watch for!" Jillian, Goodreads review

YOU AGAIN reads like a cozy mystery mixed with a romance in a nicely balanced duet. Our heroine Allie works at the high school where she went to school as a teacher, and her high school crush, Sam, now a true crime writer, returns on what's supposed to be a temporary basis to fill an empty spot in the roster. Lots of people in the town where they grew up regard Sam somewhat dubiously because at least one of the books he wrote was kind of unfavorable toward their part of the state. Anyway, early in the book a former teacher's dead body is found during an excavation at the high school, and the mystery surrounds who killed that teacher so many years ago.

Conflict rears its head when someone seems determined to keep Allie from solving the mystery or from dedicating a remembrance project to her and Sam's former teacher. Toss in some attraction between Sam and Allie but several difference of opinion, a controversy over whether or not the deceased teacher was even the person they all thought he was, and Sam's interest in writing a book about the teacher's murder and you have one suspenseful, breezy, fun book!
I liked that this narrative didn't delve into some of the grittier sides of romantic suspense. While I like gritty books, I also like the variety offered by this one. Graphic violence and highly detailed sex are both kept pretty much off-screen without any loss of story flow and entertainment value. The interactions between the hero and heroine are a little clunky at times with the heroine's lack of confidence in herself, but not unbelievable. Allie's motivation for pursuing the mystery isn't far-fetched like some suspense romances I've tried. That part is also believable. I also appreciated the fact that neither the hero nor the heroine was in law enforcement, since that is a very common device seen in these books.

Recommended for fans of light cozy mysteries and smallish town settings.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and am providing an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'You Again'! It was a really quick read for me, which was nice because I only had a little time before I was heading back out of town.

Allie reminded me of myself in that she was timid and eager-to-please, but spoke up when the issue really mattered to her. She was stronger than you'd expect to see coming from the type of family that she came from, but you could still see those moments when the things they said to her took root in her thinking.

Honestly, Sam's character didn't stand out to me as anything amazing, but I did like him. There was also the issue of what the book that made everyone hate him was about. We, as readers, were never privy to that information.

I appreciated that the road to Allie and Sam's relationship was not paved in gold because sometimes, in reality, things take a little more work.

I enjoyed the mystery and discovering things at the same time as the characters. I didn't figure things out immediately, but rather slightly before the Allie and Sam did, which was nice. There's nothing worse than knowing whodunit for the whole book and having to wait for the characters to catch up.

The cover is a bit misleading, since this book was very light on the intimate scenes. That didn't bother me, though, because sex isn't a necessity for me in the books I read. I just wanted to warn those that might be expecting something steamier that this is a fade-to-black type of read.

I would definitely recommend 'You Again' and am looking forward to what Ashlee Mallory has in store for future works!

You again by Ashley Mallory

When Allie sees her old high school crush again, she definitely wasn’t prepared for it.
A) She was with family at the airport waiting for the arrival of her oldest nephew

B) She wasn’t expecting to see him there anyway

C) The realization he didn’t know who she was and that he was rude even tho he helped saved her little nephew from crashing head first onto the airport floor

D) And then getting a shock when he turns up the next day at her school and he even has the manners to apologize for his behavior from the night before.

In his defense, he did have a crappy flight, was real tired from all the delays and even though he couldn’t (or didn’t) remember her, he kept getting the vague impression that he knew her from someplace, but he just didn’t know where.
They were a good couple once they managed to reconnect and then there was the school mystery. Seems workers found the body of a teacher on School property. The teacher had gone missing 15 years prior and no one knew what had actually happened to them until their remain showed up.

It was really good and you liked everybody you needed to like and the villains get what they deserved.
It was really, really good and if you ever get a chance to pick it up, you won’t be disappointed.

You Again is a classic murder mystery--a teacher's dead body is found YEARS after he went missing, and one of his most loyal students--now a teacher at the same high school--decides to look into his life, in order to honor him. And--not surprisingly--someone doesn't want her to get too close to the story.
And THEN there's her high school crush, returned to teach at the same school. OMG, guess what? They like each other. You know. LIKE like each other.
So MAYBE this story didn't hold a lot of surprises (except for keeping the killer pretty well camouflaged until the end), but it's so well written, it kept me reading way too late.
There was plenty of sexual tension, but the naked parts weren't explicit, FYI.
The glimpse into life in Utah was a change from a lot of romantic suspense/thriller/mystery stuff that I've read...especially a Catholic school in the land of the Mormons...
I can't wait to find out what's next, because I think that the heroine's sister might need to tell her own story here soon...
