Beat pop at its best.,

This review is from: # 4 RECORD (Audio CD)
You am I have been firmly placed in the Australian music industry for now six years. Their previous albums (Sound as ever, Hifi way, Hourly Daily) have been number one sellers at home, though any international success has eluded them. You am I's #4 record could change all that. Produced by George Drakoulias (Black Crows) the album takes on a harder edge with a distinctly pop approach. Songwriter Tim Rogers (guitar/singer and self-confessed leader), has excelled himself this time has become more personal and yet more confrounting in his approach. His influences are their for all to see. Throughout the albums 38 minutes you grab glimpses of The Who (a You am I favourite), The Kinks and even the Jam. Musically the album Kickass! You am I are relentleess in offering their listener a real good time. This very much mirrors the groups live performances. In short You am I's #4 record is one to get down to and party. George Mihalos (Sydney, Australia)
