There is no question that it is honestly very harder to actually find really great R&B standards the past few years. For Kenny Lattimore though, he has shown that strength with being a standard vocalist during the past few years with his wife Chante' Moore. But, it has been awhile that he has recorded something on his own. For his latest solo single, a cover of Norman Connors standard You Are My Starship from his 3rd cover album, his first on his own Timeless, proves that he can really deliver on the classics. The song really sounds very well, and Kenny delivers a seductive voice and swooning appeal to the song. It is just an absolute surprise, considering the past few years have shown a real drag from R&B standards. I really liked the song a lot. I just hope that Kenny can keep doing songs like this one, on his own and with his wife Chante'.
