5.0 out of 5 stars An Album Full Of Energy, April 7, 2006
Although Marc Cerrone is most famous for his popular late 70's disco albums, I find that he really got to shine even more when the 80's kicked in, as shown by this 1980 release. Of course, having Joceelyn Brown perform the lead vocals on the tracks certainly doesn't hurt. Cerrone's drumming is as strong as ever and his bandmates are always fantastic. Even the background vocals, which include Ullanda McCulloch, Kristal Davis and Jocelyn Brown are full of vibrant character. "My Look", "You Are the One" and "Took Me So Long" are my personal favourites. The chord changes alone are a lot of fun.
Too bad dance music today doesn't have near the same creativity as this kind of music does.

5.0 out of 5 stars CERRONE GOES TO THE PARADISE GARAGE WITH JOCELYN BROWN AND IT'S HIS MASTERPIECE!, November 7, 2008
Cerrone goes decidedly soulful on this 7th album and the results are the some of the best music ever recorded hands down. It is the only album I know of his with the same vocalist on every track and on this one Jocelyn Brown proves that she is the unsung lady of disco-shoulda been Gloria Gaynor but had an amazing career, capping it with the big early 80's hit "Somebody Elses Guy". She really blasts it out on this and the production is so dirty and sleazy it sounds modern today. Anyone into freaky disco and techno-soul this an absolute must. This album must not have been a big hit, none of the cuts come up in Larry Levan's playlist from the Paradise Garage which is very surprising because this is garage disco at it's most muscular and sexy. On the next LP Back Track Cerrone goes back to the sleazy sound of The Saint and never does another record this black. His albums are also very strong. I'm listening to all his 77-83 stuff right now and it's really blowing my mind. Cerrone you are a true genius and I love you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gran Disco, August 9, 2006
