This book doesn't seem to be a bestseller, but I perceive it to be a work of immense spiritual depth and shimmering truth. It's straight-forward, unabashed, quiet, potent, capable of touching great heights and great depths at the same time. In my experience, it literally shakes the stale and habitual patterns of mind loose from their moorings (with unexpected force), while simultaneously holding the reader in gentle grace and intimations of genuine possibility. I should probably add that it's not for the casual spiritual dabbler. You either want to consider having your reality turned upside down, or you want the past to remain in control. Nothing scarier than letting go of what you think you know...or more promising.

Lotus Guide Review,

You Are That
By Gangaji I found You Are That to be an excellent synthesis of the classic teachings of Ramana Maharshi and Papaji. In a time when there is so much division of thoughts and ideas it was refreshing to read something so eloquent that will go directly to the heart of so many teachings. Through Gangaji I have found my own source of wisdom for many years and in reading You Are That I see that I Am That also. This is a book that can be opened at any time and on any page it speaks though the silence that is found behind the words, the silence that speaks directly to the core of your being. You are that, I am that, and all there is is that, and that's all there is to that.Dhara Lemos, Lotus Guide magazine www.lotusguide.com

Deep, Penetrating and Ruthless!,
By
This review is from: You Are That (Hardcover)
This wonderful treatise is my first foray into the teachings of Gangaji, whom is intelligent, luminous, has a genuine desire to help and doesn't pull any punches! She is quite capable of using discernment as a scalpel to help ablate those necrotic tissues (i.e. mind things) that serve to induce and perpetuate all manner of suffering. She encourages us to dig deep, tell the truth and ruthlessly examine our stories and dramas that we tell each other, and ourselves, about ourselves. Gangaji is the student of Papaji, whom in turn is the student of the venerable Ramana Maharshi. For some unknown reason I have had terrible problems absorbing, let alone reflecting on the teachings of the aforementioned masters, yet the way Gangaji presents her thoughts in this dialectic forum, concepts (for lack of a better word) began to resonate with me - especially after the first 25 or 30 pages.
One of the principal tenets of her teachings admonishes us to leave internal commentary, judgment, emotions, states, ideas and concepts behind and dive headlong into that which remains - BEING. While I feel that this is excellent guidance, as it resonates very profoundly within me, I can't figure out how to do this; I can't wrap my head around it, which is probably why I can't figure it out - I'm trying to use my mind! Phew, this for me is tough stuff, but it is none-the-less real. Excellent work, 5 stars on the board with a real 4 ½ from me!!

Gangaji,
By
This review is from: You Are That (Hardcover)
Ganganji is different than some gurus in the fact that she doesnt give you the false pretense that the search for truth, freedom, and "enlightenment" will give you success, happiness, or a spiritual high. Her truth is simple: You are collective consciousness, and once you realize this you can begin to silence your pointless desires and realize that the only worthwhile desire is that of freedom.
She presents a harsh reality at times that may not feel good to those seeking happiness in relationships, finances, and work. Your situations in life are irrelevent to your being, which is who you are. Just be silent, and realize you are THAT!

Gangaji is a wonderful teacher who conveys the message of truth in very simple and clear terms. Her gentle words penetrate through all conceptualizations that abound in spiritual understanding to the core of truth that remains while all the concepts come and go. Beautiful work from a beautiful soul.

The first book I read on the subject of non-duality was Gangaji's "The Diamond in Your Pocket", a truly life changing experience. The second book "You Are That" is a question/anawer format that includes photos of Gangaji with her Guru Papaji in India. A beautiful book for those few brave souls who are ready to discard the futile mind based approachs to self discovery and open to the shockingly simple truth presented in this book by a great teacher.

Reading this fabulous book by Gangaji is heaven on earth. She points the way to realization by teaching core truths - that Life Source animates all of us, and we can let all identities rest in this truth to live freely as humans BEING.

I came across this book by coincidence at our local Barnes and Noble Bookstore, right before leaving, flipped it open at some random page and my mind instantly stopped - nothing but the most exquisite oneness and bliss was experienced. Gangaji eloquently examines all major issues that concern humanity today and points to what is here, fresh and eternally present at all times beyond all appearances. The content is gorgeous, the style in which it is presented cuts through all layers of defenses right into the heart and bypasses the mind in a simple, pure and elegant way. The cover of this special edition is also extremely beautifully designed and I am just so very grateful to have found this gift.

At the risk of sounding gauche...WOW. This book is wonderful. So good that the suggestions to be still caused me to put it down and simply bask blissfully in Being...but then I had to get back to the book. Beautifully written and absolutely relentless in its exposure of truth. I have fallen into the pit of endless Seeking, and not since Tolle's A New Earth has a spiritual book made me slow down, breathe, and just be aware and realize who I really am, until I was fortunate enough to stumble onto this book. I'm grateful I did. Highly recommended.
