The illustrations are incredible! The content kinda goes astray, hence the 4 stars. But the story is wonderful. Being a 40 year old first time Mom, in a time where many women are having difficulty having babies, this book speaks to my heart!

This is a very sweet story about a mother sharing with her child how he was her "wish come true" because she had hoped and wished and dreamed of having a baby then one day there he was! It is a perfect story to fill your child with the love you have always felt for him! Highly recommend this book.

I LOVE this book. I'm a single mom and this book is perfect for me. I couldn't have told my son any better that he is my wish come true!

I was scanning reviews of adoption related books for my 3 yo, when I came across this title. Another reviewer said it is identical to a differently entitled story by the same author. I ordered this one instead of the other, and now I have a book about biologically-related mother and child. I will have to return it as my child was not born through me, but through his birthmom. Shame on the other reviewer that said it was the same as this. It is not!

This is the first review I have ever written but felt compelled to do so after reading some of the other reviews. I was so shocked to see some of the negatives. After seven years of infertility and finally success with twins via IVF, this book describes my feelings about the desire to have a child perfectly. I still cannot read it without it bringing a tear to my eye. I cannot wait to share it to my little ones to help convey how they really are "my wish come true"

While this is a wonderful book, east to understand and nice drawings. I am giving it a negative review because it is WORD for WORD the same as I Wished For You, by the same author. This was disappointing for me. I purchased these as a gift for someone, when they arrived I read them both first to check relevancy. I could expect similarities, but Word for word come on! Individually, they are excellent books. Do not waste your money on both!

I remember reading this book to a little boy I used to babysit. When I had my own daughter, I knew I had to find it to read to her. Of course, as she's only 1, it means a whole lot more to me! It doesn't explicitly discuss adoption, but of course, it can be used to describe it. I look forward to reading it to my daughter as she grows older. It is the sweetest book!

People who left bad reviews b/c they thought this book was about adoption piss me off. Just because you bought the wrong thing does NOT make this book bad. I Wished for You: an Adoption Story (Mom's Choice Award Recipient, Book of the Year Award, Creative Child Magazine) is about adoption. This one is not. Nowhere in the description of this book does it say adoption. You can't blame Amazon, the seller, the author, or the book itself - that was all you for not reading and making assumptions.

All that being said, it is a good book. It's got a lovely jacket and very pretty wording on the inside. There should be more books like it that help a mother show her child how much they were wanted. My only complaints are that is seems a little scattered in some places, like how out of nowhere the baby bear asks the mama bear "We don't look alike. Is that okay?" - that part doesn't really make sense to me, and I don't really understand why it is in there, along with the crap about the boy wanting a lizard and what he did at school. It seems like the author may have ADHD. lol. But it is nothing that would deter a child from getting the message, I don't think.

This is a very cute book, but for those who are looking for books on adoption this is not one of them! I confused this book with a similar one by the same author. When I received it I realized that it mentions the mother bear being pregnant, waiting for the child etc. Still a great book, which I gave to a friend, but probably not the one you want if you're adopting.

This is a wonderful story!! It was very meaningful for me and I recommend this book as a gift to anyone who had trouble conceiving!!
