Absolutely the best book!,
By
This review is from: You Bake 'em Dog Biscuits Cookbook (Paperback)
This book is absolutely the best for making home made dog biscuits! I own 5 dog cookbooks and this by far is the best! Show your dog you love them by making them homemade biscuits! You know the ingredients are fresh and your dog will sit by the oven waiting for those hot biscuits to come out! (but let them cool off first no matter how they give you those dog eyes!)

What a great book! Not only is it full of easy to make recipes for dog treats, but it also includes additional, helpful information to improve your dog's health and well-being.
I've made a number of the treats and they are a big hit with my dog (and cats too -- don't tell!). I especially like the sections on grain-free treats, and recipes for dogs with special needs. The recipes are simple, and even stand up to an ingredient substitution or two if necessary. I can't imagine ever bringing home store-bought treats again!

Really nice book on making dog treats from scratch. The graphics are a bit odd being people with various dog heads doing various chores. But if you're looking for a book with a nice variety of treat recipes this is a good one. About half of the recipes sound good enough to eat (the ones sans liver) for myself, like Pumpkin Drop Cookies and Apple Bran Muffins. And just about everything can easily be obtained at your local grocery with maybe a few ingredients needing to be found at the health food market. But you can make 85% of the recipes in the book just from 1 trip to the local grocery store if the ingredient isn't already sitting on your pantry shelf.

What a find! Tons of great recipes (even my husband enjoyed the Blue Cheese Walnut Training Treats) that are clear and easy to follow. The book is written with wit and intelligence and is filled with all sorts of related and valuable information. I love that Ms. Adams recognizes her readers would prefer to be enjoying time with their animals rather than fussing around with complicated recipes -- she offers up some terrific time-saving tips. And the inclusion of recipes targeted for animals with special dietary needs makes this the perfect gift book for anyone who loves their animals. To top it off, the book is beautifully designed and illustrated. This is a really terrific book and I'm so glad I found it!

Great Eats for Dogs!,

Some of the recipes in here taste pretty good to people, too! My brother ate as many peanut butter treats as the dogs did... maybe more! A great range of recipes, from simple no-bake ones to more complicated efforts.

Best Dog Cookbook,

This is one of the best cookbooks for dogs. The recipes are very easy to follow and I also like how there are instructions for storing. You don't find that in alot of other books like these. My dogs love everything I've made so far and will be making some goodie treats this Christmas for my friends with pets. I would recommend this book.

Unique- with drawbacks.,

I bought this book based on all the good reviews and was a little disappointed....almost every recipe calls for a food processor and not having one at the moment pretty much excluded alot of the recipes. Of the ones I did make my two pugs weren't crazy about them. It is O.K. but there are many more that are better out there...

Great biscuit book for canine lover's to make!,

I just got a puppy and have been very concerned about what goes into his food and treats, so I decided that I want to try making my own (not to mention that this makes for great gifts to give). When I went to the store to find books on this type of thing, it is surprising that not many books are just about biscuits. I love my dog, but I find it a little ludacris that many doggie biscuit books actually have real meals for dogs in them (Labradore Lasagnia, Pup's Pizza, meatloaf, even Arroz con Pollo)... I'm truly serious! If you make meals for your dog, I appologize and do not mean to affend, but I barely have time to make my own meals, let alone something for my dog. Baking biscuits is one thing... but actual meals each night is another.
This book was right to the point and had everything I desired in it... buscuits, treats, and even cupcakes for when he does have a special celebration. The recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients seem easy to find. I think this book is a real treat and paired with the right cookie cutters makes a great gift (see also their set that comes with cutters). I got the book as opposed to the set because I also got "Make Your Own Healthy Doggie Biscuits" by Jonna Anne that came with 3 cutters (also an excellent book and set). I may also get the You Bake 'em Dog Biscuit mini set so that I have a smaller bone. I thought this book hit the target and I love it!

Entertaining,

This book not only gave you the recipes, it had little helpful hints in regards to what ingredients are not good for your pup.
