I just heard a song on my local jazz station. It was "You Belong To Me". I found this song 'enthralling'. It put me in a trance! Being a singer myself, I usually can place almost any singer in about 20 seconds or less into a song, yet this song puzzled me. I knew it was the Connie Francis time period but this was NOT Connie Francis. I usually know most of the famous singers from the 1930's up, yet could NOT place this singer AT ALL. I anxiously awaited the announcer and when he said, "By Jo Stafford" I about fell over. I have heard of the name but really couldn't place a single song by her. I went on the internet and found her BIO. Incredibly impressive. That she placed the first ever UK & US #1 single by a woman is even MORE amazing. I will definitely download most of her songs. I feel I have found a gold mine here. I'm going to stump every one with this and see if anyone remembers JO STAFFORD. They will love this find. She has the most LOVELY and versatile voice. I recommend listening to more of her tunes to anyone out there. You will be very surprised. What a gem to discover! Diana.

My mother suggested I buy a CD of Jo Stafford songs for my father. So I started to listen to a bunch of them and fell in love with this one. It's so beautiful. What an incredible voice.
