Grade 3-5?What a dreadful execution of a great concept. The idea is apparently to show how Dr. Rita Redberg decided to become a doctor and to show her at work in her practice. However, the day-glo, fluorescent pages and the scratchy, sloppy illustrations detract to the point of annoyance. Misspellings and bad grammar aside ("The heart beats more then l00,000 times a day"), there is no feel for the day-to-day work. Redberg's explanation of how she decided to go into medicine is interesting enough, but it's lost in the dense text and unattractive layout. The three "lesson plans" included at the end of the book are ridiculous: "Have the children build a model of the heart out of clay or paper...with plugs or stoppers where the heart connects with the main arteries and veins." Gee, if they can do all that without any instructions, I say they should be board certified. Bad beyond belief.?Christine A. Moesch, Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, NY
