About the Author
Dan Burt paints in Texas, Louisiana, Mexico, Italy and Spain using transparent watercolor. His impressionistic style reflects his enthusiasm. With rich color and deep feeling, he creates paintings which he calls "imaginationscapes" full of life and spirit. He has conducted workshops and given painting demonstrations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Indiana, Louisiana, California and central Italy. He has also juried numerous exhibitions. He served on the juries of selection for the 129th Annual American Watercolor Society International Exhibition in New York, NY, and the 78th Annual National Watercolor Society Exhibition in Fullerton, California.
Burt has won over 70 awards in national, regional and state juried exhibitions. His work has been included in various books and magazines. He is an elected signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, Watercolor West, the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society and the Texas Watercolor Society. He was elected to the board of directors of the American Watercolor Society for 1997 and 1998. His work is in numerous public and private collections.

I first borrowed the book from the library, and found that I liked Dan Burt's style and philosophy on painting. I wanted to paint with my "impression", not make my paintings look too lifelike. This book is not in print, and Amazon had a vendor, Larry, who mailed me the book, which he described as in "excellent condition". When I received the book, it was like I got it off of the shelf at Barnes and Noble. I've been reading and re-reading the book; painting while glancing at the book for insights; and using it to "not take myself too seriously"...to have fun. I bought this book real cheap from one of the sellers on Amazon so I wasn't sure as to what to expect. The book that I received is hard-bound and it has about 120 pages of full color illustrations so that in itself is worth it. The author is a very talented artist and is exceptional at painting very loose watercolors.
