This book tells a lot of great information on how to start a career of marine biology. You learn about how a marine biologist decided to be a marine biologist and if marine biology is the right occupation for you. This book was very helpful since I'm planning on being a marine biologist. It also teaches you about the kingdoms of the sea and their Latin names. In addition to this great book there is a wonderful cd. It tells you all about this marine biologist and her life. Also it shows you pictures of what she sees when she dives . I think the cd is really the big learning help. It is full of facts. This is a great learning opportunity for youngsters. I give this book 4 golden stars!

I must have missed an age reference on this book. It's definitely for YOUNG elementary children or beginning readers.

The cover is WOW and the inside information is useful but the inside pages are printed on color Xerox paper (to keep the cost down?) and not worth $7 cost new. It will also not hold up very long under use.

This is such a good series with real potential. Can't it be re-worked with better quality photographs or full color drawings and printed on semi-gloss paper?

I received this book as a gift. It is a good concept for a book, but the editing is horrible. There is a error in the first line of the book. I really wonder if anyone edited it. I realize that it is meant as a children's book, but it should still be done more professionally.

It's amazing photography and a good read - my then 13 year daughter loved it.

I came across this book while searching for information about marine biology on the internet. Florence McAlary was my marine biology teacher when I attended Cypress College 28 years ago & I was elated to find out that she had written a book about the subject. I have a daughter who's eight years old & I really appreciate finding books that emphasize great accomplishments by women that will hopefully influence her. I read this book to my daughter & she really liked it. The illustrations & the story were very good. It also listed some recommendations for other books that stressed other accomplishments by women in different professions. I'll probably purchase some of these books as well.
