Book Description

1894042093 978-1894042093 June 1, 1998
Originally published in 1979, this bestselling classic about death and dying advances the startling but liberating proposition that human beings do survive physical death.

Research on death in this century has been extensive and author and psychic researcher Ian Currie painstakingly amassed the results of this wide-ranging material using case histories of parapsychological phenomena from out-of-the-body experiences, deathbed visions, mediumship, apparitions, possessions, and hauntings to provide the basis for this extraordinary claim. In a riveting presentation that often reads like a detective story, he presents evidence that makes it clear that, indeed, you cannot die.

Amazon.com Review

First published in 1978, You Cannot Die has been in print longer than almost any other book about life after death. Ian Currie's investigation of the after-death experience covers the spectrum of spiritualism from hauntings and near-death experiences to out-of-body experiences and reincarnation, as well as mediumistic accounts from psychics on what the departed have to say about the other side. You Cannot Die presents compelling evidence for continuing survival of the spirit beyond the body, and offers surprising revelations of how the decisions we make in our lives have a profound effect on what happens to us after death. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent look into 'what happens next, September 19, 1999

This review is from: You Cannot Die: The Incredible Findings of a Century of Research on Death (Paperback)
Ian Currie studied and researched reported incidents of life after death. His book is well written and easily understood. This book confirms ,to those who already believe, that death is not the end of our being. It serves to ease the fears of those who are not sure, and are fearful of dying. There is no sensationalism just facts presented in a comfortable, easy to read manner. It is unfortunate the Ian Currie has passed on, I am sure he would have written more books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Rounded Book, February 2, 2011
This review is from: You Cannot Die (Hardcover)

I came upon this book by accident, and am I glad I did. I have read many books on death and other related phenomena, and this one ranks near the top of the list. There may be other books that elaborate more on a particular area, but You Cannot Die does a great job at spanning the spectrum of related phenomena. It is a great book for people who already know about some of this stuff, as it elaborates quite nicely as many things. I definitely learned a thing or two. It also is a good introduction to the related phenomena, as the chapters are engaging and easily read.
The only thing I have against the book, is that the sections on Hauntings and Possession may scare some novice readers. Though I applaud his research, and it is presented in a way I believe to be the truth of the matter.
This is a great book, but it is not one I would recommend to someone coping with a loss. There are others more suited to that end.

All in all, I highly recommend it.
