Another exceptional way to experiance Davids message.,

The title song "If You Can't Fly" is among the best that David has done. I also loved the jazzy tune "I Would Fight for You", very different than his usual folk type agenda. His story telling in "Dragon to Butterfly" and John and Josie" bring me to tears even after hearing them multiple times. And I just love his cut.."Morning Person",his way of descrbing things puts me right there with him. Yes...for anyone who enjoys being moved by music...this one is for you.

My friend loaned me her copy of this CD when her husband died of diabetic complications -- like Larry in "Dragon to Butterfly." Roth was one of their combined favorites.
In the year since then, I've found this CD to be many things. If I'm leaning toward tears, playing "John & Josie" and "Mother's Day Card" are sure to make them roll. If I've got a hidden bounce inside, "Master's Degree" and "If You Can't Fly" will soon find me and the dogs dancing around the house together. Even they love it. Roth's storytelling melodies can touch something different in you each time you listen. |
