-2 The book is very disorganized and I had a hard time keeping focused.
There certainly other books on the market that far exceed the information this book provides. Look for these books instead of "you can't lie to me"
"What every body is saying"
"The charisma myth"
Two of the best books I've read this year!
Read their reviews on amazon they speak for themselves .
If she cannot take the time to make sure that some of her book's structure is correct, how the hell are we supposed to take what she says seriously. This lady is a joke and she is arrogant. Arrogant for putting together such a crap piece of work (I use work loosely)
and arrogant for thinking that this kind of work is worth the price she is selling it for.
PLEASE, save your money and time. Don't fall for this garbage.
Yes there are a ton of new books out there on "body language" and while some of them really are not that good this book is great and filled with plenty of information and backed up with studies as opposed to just made up.
For some lying is a form of survival while for others it is a sport, the liar does what they can because it's a challenge while others give a little lie that they think is harmless or will keep you from information you don't need or should not have in any case you will learn what it takes to pick up on the cues of dishonesty.
Why you need this book: Well to put it simply because someone in your life is lying to you or will lie to you and you will have a better understanding and ability to catch them when they do. You will also get some help with needed responses so that you can interact with the liar in a way that doesn't cause escalation. There are also some cool how to deal with situations like conflict, salespeople, service people and even that person who won't stop talking.
What you will be interested to know from the book: Nobody can detect 100% of lies so even if you leave this book on the nightstand and your significant other reads it they will only be able to catch you some of the time in a lie.
This happens, for instance, when the author uses Madoff as an example (I think - maybe it's just random comments that weren't attempting to get anywhere). Anybody who did cursory research on Madoff knew that he wouldn't meet most of his investors (they would invest through funds of funds.
That's a small example, but the book reads like the author sat down and started writing - no going back, no improving of the chapters, no research, just grabing some cash quickly

I read most of it, and I learned that she wants us to trust our guts. Not what I expected, more geared to police work or business. In the end, not worth my time.Published 2 months ago by pen freak
This book allowed me to really open up myself and do a self examination to see why I believed what I believed. I like to read but this was alot of pages to read even for me. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Tony
