-1 I felt like the Author was doing more self-promoting and self praising than anything else in this book. Ok already!!! Let me read the book I paid for and STOP asking for my cash.
-2 The book is very disorganized and I had a hard time keeping focused.

There certainly other books on the market that far exceed the information this book provides. Look for these books instead of "you can't lie to me"

"What every body is saying"
"The charisma myth"

Two of the best books I've read this year!
Read their reviews on amazon they speak for themselves .

I bought this book based mainly on good reviews and the fact that it was well publicized. If you're looking for mediocre, disorganized writing with a lot of self-promotion, this book will appeal to you. If you really just want to learn about non-verbal communication, find another, less popular book. I am disappointed.

This book is garbage! This lady is so full of herself. Her writing makes me cringe and she is all over the place. I feel robbed! How can someone write so poorly and sell this crap?!
If she cannot take the time to make sure that some of her book's structure is correct, how the hell are we supposed to take what she says seriously. This lady is a joke and she is arrogant. Arrogant for putting together such a crap piece of work (I use work loosely)
and arrogant for thinking that this kind of work is worth the price she is selling it for.
PLEASE, save your money and time. Don't fall for this garbage.

The author sounded to me as if she was so impressed with he knowledge and expertise, and that the rest of us peons would never grasp it -- markedly narcissistic. In addition, the electronic Kindle version can't play the videos that are supposed to be an integral pat of the book-- and I have a Kindle FIRE. I can watch other videos on it.

I suspect the author isn't nearly as good at spotting liars as she claims to be or she'd be able to explain the process. I think the book is a lie.

Although some of the author's observations about body language and behavior as an indicator that someone is lying to you is good information at times, I came away from reading this book that it is such a cynical view of the world. I'm not gullible but according to the author, it seems that anyone who does an act of human kindness towards one another is suspect for having a malicious ulterior motive. It's a horrible way to go through life. I'd like to think that someone who does me a favor is doing it for the right reasons. I have bestowed random acts of kindness on strangers at times for no other reason than to have good karma in life and make someone's day. According to the author, she would think that I was being manipulative. It's just a depressing way to view the world.

Awesome book, I can't put it down!! I expected this to be a good
reference book with some techniques I could use during
investigations and interviews (I'm an investigator), and while it is a great
reference book it is so much more. Its a rarely seen positive spin on a
valuable topic. interlaced with a good amount of humor. It's not only
detecting deception/lies it is also detecting honesty. It is a must
read and reference book, buy it now!!

P.S. Literally jaw dropping... I was reading on the train and people were just staring at me, as I was lost in the book and had my mouth wide open. So perhaps the best book to read at home and the most dangerous to read in public, as you'll be completely oblivious to everything else around you.

Ok so everyone lies but how do you tell when that person is lying? This book outlines just how to tell when a person is being dishonest from their actions as it relates to the situation and also dispels some of the common myths about body language or nonverbal communication.

Yes there are a ton of new books out there on "body language" and while some of them really are not that good this book is great and filled with plenty of information and backed up with studies as opposed to just made up.

For some lying is a form of survival while for others it is a sport, the liar does what they can because it's a challenge while others give a little lie that they think is harmless or will keep you from information you don't need or should not have in any case you will learn what it takes to pick up on the cues of dishonesty.

Why you need this book: Well to put it simply because someone in your life is lying to you or will lie to you and you will have a better understanding and ability to catch them when they do. You will also get some help with needed responses so that you can interact with the liar in a way that doesn't cause escalation. There are also some cool how to deal with situations like conflict, salespeople, service people and even that person who won't stop talking.

What you will be interested to know from the book: Nobody can detect 100% of lies so even if you leave this book on the nightstand and your significant other reads it they will only be able to catch you some of the time in a lie.

I should have read the reviews prior to purchasing this book. It was like reading People Magazine or US Weekly, only I was not in the supermarket line. There is very little content devoted to technique in this book. Please don't waste your money.
