Excellent Blues Group, December 28, 1998

In the early sixties I lived in Wash, D.C. and a friend of mine who was black took me to some of the bars where not many whites frequented. In those bars one could listen to some of the best Blues Groups. They were mostly just local groups that did that in the evening after their day time jobs. Believe me, these guys were good. About five years ago I went to a Jazz Festival in Sedona, AZ. Doug MacLeod made the festival worth more than the price of the admission. He returned the next two years and filled the joint. After that his group broke up. It was a sad day for those of us in Arizona who like his style. Finding his recordings is difficult but Amazon has come through. "You Can't Take My Blues Away" is just another great album by a Great Blues Group.
