This review is from: You Can't Teach a Class You Can't Manage (Paperback)
The title says it all - well, almost all. I read this book because one of the teachers in my school was asked to read it last summer. I saw her implement many of the strategies right away in the fall and she has continued to use them - including reviewing with the class after winter break for the benefit of a student teacher. The ideas suggested are sound, easy to implement, and are based on common sense. The reasons behind the suggestions are explained, which helps the reader understand why children do the things they do in the classroom. This is a must-read for beginning teachers and teachers who struggle with classroom management in the elementary grades.
