"You Can Change The World" is an excellent book. Father Keller really expounds on the precept of everyone, all of us, can do something to make our world a better place to live in. It is important for Christians to live their faith and take their faith into their public life by becoming involved in their communities, schools and workplace for positive change. The influence of one individual can be great and we have seen that very vividly in the example of Mother Theresa of Calcutta. While we all are not Mother Theresa, we each can so SOMETHING to make someone elses life a little better and in turn the world a little better than how we found it. I believe Father Keller's book gives great suggestions and is a good motivator on how to do just that.

Good deeds are as filthy rags... Rightly mentioned in one small section, but the rest of the book is all about doing good deeds to save the world. Read the Bible and see that God has nothing but bad things to say about our world outside of the creation. It is the fault of all world leaders to think that they (or we as individuals) determine what will happen to the earth (environmentalism) or society (socialism). God makes kings and He also takes them down. Bible prophecy is very clear that when man strikes out on his own to CHANGE the world - God always rebukes us then steps in with righteous judgment. Our own arrogance (just like the Jews) make us believe that we are in charge and we must do something. Every Christian and every church believes they are one the best churches described in Revelation with very little error or problem in Gods eyes. Look again, only 2 of the 7 are fairly good the other 5 are bordering on outright heresy! Read the Bible to understand God. Read books like these to feel good about yourself.
