These books are so good at helping kids learn the parts of speech. They give so many clear examples of sentences, with the specific part of speech in a different color so everyone will notice it. I used these in a classroom during english class and they all loved it. A+ to this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read!, October 10, 2005
Clear and concise, with a lot of tongue in cheek fun thrown in, this book is excellent for teaching what a pronoun is and categorizing pronouns. A wonderful resource for the classroom and home library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and educational!, April 1, 2007
Brian P. Cleary has a great way of introducing and explaining pronouns to children in this book! My students have enjoyed all his books that he has written about the different parts of speech, and I have purchased everyone that he has written! He has made a boring subject entertaining and educational.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pronouns - Simplifying Sentences, May 4, 2011
This review is from: I and You and Don't Forget Who: What Is a Prounoun? (Words Are Categorical) (Paperback)
Cleary's "Words are CATegorical" series aims to teach young students the parts of speech; and language devices such as simile, and metaphor through humor, rhyme, creative story telling, and a zany group of animals.

The Pronoun book brings together writer Brian Cleary and illustrator Brian Gable, who together raise this already instructional series to a higher level. The format is the same in each book of the series, with the concept definition at the beginning, and then page after page of examples. The rhyme and story telling flows easily, and illustrates perfectly how pronouns are used throughout our sentences to simplify our sentences by taking the place of nouns.

This review is from: I and You and Don't Forget Who: What Is a Prounoun? (Words Are Categorical) (Paperback)
Have you noticed that many, otherwise well educated, Americans do not know the correct way to use the pronouns I (subjective case) and me (objective case)? Correct usage of pronouns begins at home! This book promotes understanding of pronouns.
