This book was just ok, it nowhere near kept me as entertained as the others and knowing its the last book really sucked b/c the ending was awful. Im trying to not give spoilers away and Im not so if this is a bit choppy or vague thats why.

First, I dont know if it was the flow or what was going on but early on I found myself just wanting to wrap this mess up. i had to stop myself numerous times just from skipping forward to the end. I found myself not caring but really just wanting it to be over.

Also, i cant really continue without giving anything away but the ending really really sucked. It seemed to me the overall message of the book series was about the danger of being deceitful and how it can come back to you so how can someone who did just as bad and deceitful things end up "winning" in the end. Also, i wont say what, but Madisons sudden change of heart at the very end in the court room. There was no indication why that happened and that sucked on the writers part.

As a matter of fact there was a lot left open and unsaid AS IF there were going to be another book which we all know there is not. Since it doesnt matter to the overall book why was SIndy's family thrown in at the end? I know i didnt give a damn about them and we never even got to meet them so why did they matter? Helens comments at the end, I mean honestly. It was a lot of random stuff thrown in that didnt make sense, didnt push the story forward or do anything other than just be there. for example, this is a spoiler but an insignificant one. We only see or hear of Loretta twice in this book. The time we hear of her what was the purpose of her calling Roosevelt and then nothing else. Why was that call even thrown in there?

The book was a big disappointment. The previous books were exciting and kept you interested but this one lacked something. I hate giving this review because I love Mary B. Morrison and I have loved reading this series but not this one.

I love Mary B. Morrison's books but this book felt rushed and incomplete. I felt like I was left hanging and I sure hope she decides not to end the series and leave loyal readers disappointed like this. Shame on you Ms. Morrison.

I enjoyed the other books in this series so I was really looking forward to the final book but it was truly a disappointment. The story line was all over the place and never really tied together in the biggest scene during the last chapter. The ending was unbelievably unfullfilling for true fans of this series. I am disappointed that Mary ended this series in such a boring, confusing, unmemorable way especially with so many strong characters that we have grown to love and hate. If this is the last book we will all sit confused creating our own ending in our heads. Bottom line, the entire book but especially the ending left a lot to be desired by her fans that have followed this series. I am hoping she will do one more book to end the series the right way. Please, I beg of you!

I'm forcing myself to finish this book so I can see how it ends. I finished the other books in this series within two to three days, but this one is taking me forever to get through. Not holding my attention at all. I love Mary B. Morrison's books but this one is a disappointment.

It usually takes me a couple of days to read a Mary B. Morrison book. This has taken me well over a week! To put it bluntly it was just plain stupid. Repetitive and flat out boring.

Don't understand why most of the book was focused on a new female, some of the other characters we come to love didn't have any parts in the book.

I will first say I am a fan of Mary Morrison and have read just about every book she has written. This is the first book I've been sorely disappointed in reading. The story had too many twists that didn't connect. In addition, the story was not believable, which is very different from her other books. The ending was just plain dumb! I expect much more from this author.
