4.0 out of 5 stars Just like a liberal...
This book tells it all. The truth that liberals want the same things that the conservatives think they want: control over the illusions of the media. The heavy-handedness doesn't disguise the similarities, however, and anyone who wants to see through the Demoplican/Repugnicrat agendas should read "Screwed" by Thom Hartmann. This is a collection of extremist right wing echo chamber rantings that have no verification or factual basis. So if you are looking to say something stupid in front of others here's you guidebook.

The heavy-handedness doesn't disguise the similarities, however, and anyone who wants to see through the Demoplican/Repugnicrat agendas should read "Screwed" by Thom Hartmann. Petrodollars, electrodollars, Exxon, Mobil, ATT, ITT, DuPont..."
Don't read this book unless you read "Unequal Protection" by Thom Hartmann.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book confirms my fears and suspicions about socialists, April 5, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
All along, I've been uncomfortable with the word "liberals" because it masks what most of these people really believe: socialism is the most effective means of civil organization. These beliefs often are cleverly masked in words and phrases that the populace wants to hear--not what the socialists really mean. To have a book uncover the true nature of these people, in their true words, in true utterances or writings (without searching long and hard) is truly a blessing! If you want the "truth" of what the socialists (referred to as "liberals") believe and advocate, read this book. And read it again. And again. rded

5.0 out of 5 stars Book of raw truth-and I mean raw-liberals caught in the act, March 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
"I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years" - Lyndon B. Johnson

You'll have a chance to read these bone chilling quotes and guess who said them. From Janet Reno wanting to outlaw all guns, Jane Fonda wanting communim for all, to racial remarks by Roger Clinton. He says (in reference to cocaine) that Bill has a nose like a vacuum cleaner. A publication not to miss!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's liberals who are mean spirited!!, June 7, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
This is a great book and i'm disappointed that this book has yet to get the press it deserves.

This shows the hidden agenda of liberals and their New World Order mentality and it's shocking to say the least.

This is a great gift to those on the left who always claim that Conservatives are mean spirited since it details the chronicles of the new thought police!

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY SCARY, October 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
Just about sums up what a true liberal is and what they are trying to do to America. Very, very scary indeed! But true. It's about time we all woke up and quit being so complacent about our rights before we lose them all.
I highly recommend this book to anyone - in fact, my book is being passed around to everyone. It's an interesting read - well put together. Liberals would hate this book! And if it keeps just one person from going to the left (which it should), then thanks to Mr. Gielow for putting this book together!

4.0 out of 5 stars Depressing, discouraging, but oh, so important!, December 8, 2003
By
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
Every American citizen should read this book, if nothing else, just to be informed of liberals' true agenda(s). You certainly won't hear many of these quotes in the "mainstream media."

The book is a quick read, with about 2 pages devoted to each quote. The first lists the quote and then a "multiple choice" question to see if the reader can guess the origin of the quote. I think that format was just a waste of space, but some readers might enjoy the challenge.

The author attempts to open the readers eyes to the dangers of liberalism that are so prevalent, yet so often overlooked, in today's society. One of the last sections contains an absolutely fantastic "open letter" from a writer (Tom DeWeese) to the Republican Party, basically chastising them for their betrayal of their consituencies--that chapter alone is worth the price of the book.

I said this book is depressing and discouraging, however, because it brings me great dismay to look at the solid foundations our forefathers put in place (primarily in the Constitution), and then to look at where we've fallen (as evident by the drivel pointed out by the author that is accepted by so many Americans today), primarily by violating or circumventing (or completely ignoring) that Constitution. I really do fear that the end is near for this great nation.

5.0 out of 5 stars We need to WAKE UP!, September 23, 2004
By
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
This book sent shock waves down my spine. This book exposes exactly what the liberal society wants to see happen in this country, some of which is already happening. The introduction of Gaia worship(mother earth),new-age philosophy, belief that the Christian religion is outdated, goddess worship, your parents don't know what they are talking about, liberals do. EVERY parent should read this...I would homeschool my kid after reading this. I could go on and on, but I will let you buy the book and see for yourself. GET THE BOOK!!!TELL YOUR FRIENDS!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying..., May 24, 2005
This review is from: You Don't Say (Paperback)
I also received this book free with my Conservative Book Club membership.

I have to agree with most earlier reviews - this book is absolutely, bone-chillingly scary - or more precisely, the leftists quoted in the book frankly scare the snot out of me. I had no idea the left was so incredibly hostile to the family, Christianity, the US, and humanity itself. Some of the last quotes in the book even identify liberals saying that they want human beings to die - one (I think it was Cousteau) saying that humans should have to die at over 300,000 per day in order to return the world population to "sustainable" levels. I wanted to say, "Great! Let's commence the executions - starting with YOU and YOUR FAMILY!" Funny how none of these people seemed to be volunteering to step in front of a firing squad for the sake of the environment.

The last chapter of the book contains an essay that to me seemed like little more of an unspecific rant than anything else. The author makes many wild claims that I've never heard from any other conservative writer, such that the Holloman AFB in New Mexico has been handed over to "the Germans" so that they can use American airspace to conduct military exercises. Uhm, excuse me? Germany? You mean that nation in Central Europe with practically no defense budget and that hasn't deployed forces outside of its territory in 60 years? The one that contains more American forces than German ones?

The author also goes on to briefly mention "illegal joint military-police exercises" in major American cities(actually posse comitus only forbids direct, active-duty military participation in law enforcement activities) and also to "reports that are filtering in" of massive amounts of Russian-made military hardware on the move within the borders of the US. Interesting...so why hasn't any libertarian or other conservative writer mentioned this? The author then proceeds to admit that he doesn't know how much of this is real and how much is hearsay.

I can't slam the author completely, though. There's nothing novel about saying that Jesse Ventura and Ted Turner are anti-Christian bigots, that the public schools are doing our children a gross disservice, that many environmental organizations have gone completely off the deep end, that private property rights are being eroded, and that the UN is basically an anti-American organization, even though it draws the lion's share of its support from American taxpayers. I can't argue with any of that and many of the quotes identified here I've heard elsewhere as well. There's even one from Hitler, thrown in to show similarity in opinion between Der Fuhrer and some of today's leftists.

The book is a few years old now and so realize that some of the commentary may be invalidated by events of the past six years (such as September 11th, the Bush Presidency, the Iraq War, and so on) and so keep that in mind as you read. I rememeber the 1990's well - I thought freedom in America was coming to an end for sure under Bill Clinton and Janet Reno's Justice Dept. Some things have changed since those days. Some things haven't.

I wish the author hadn't focused so much on the doom and gloom. It would have been nice if he'd given the reader some reason to hope some of the things he mentions would improve, instead of get worse. It's an incredibly depressing book, and it doesn't really behoove you to get down about things unless you plan on taking some concrete action to fight back on behalf of moral values, private property rights, the Christian faith, or something else under attack.

However, the author makes many good points, the main one being to show how utterly corrupt, hateful, and wrongheaded the Left is. Just take the book with a grain of salt and as you read, think carefully, "Could that really happen here?"
