Found, But Not As Driven,

It honestly can be very hard to see an act really shine and deliver, after their biggest hit has been definitive. That unfortunately feels that way with The Fray. After the dominant appeal of their signature song How To Save A Life was played on radio for the past couple of years, the question is can they really top themselves off with a better song. That unfortunately isn't the case. Their latest single You Found Me, is alright but honestly not their best song. I didn't really feel the chemistry that was there before. It just didn't feel as strong. I really hope that the next single The Fray makes, can honestly be much better. They are a good group, and I don't want them to fall into the trap a lot of other wannabe acts have fallen into, by making lackluster songs that have too much play on radio, with little or no feeling.Song: C

Unlike the other reviewers, I find the new song dynamic and great,

The new song is great! It may not be as commercial as some of the previous. I enjoy the melodic changes in time and complexity of the song. Can't wait for the album. I am more interested in quality than making a statement of air time. The Christian stations have picked up the fray's music. I am very excited to hear what is next.

I love this song because the artist is expressing His experience with God and how He felt on the inside. It reminds me of my own struggles I have experienced while walking the road of life.

The Fray got ripped twice at the Grammys,

What a rip-off, The Black Eyed Peas, REALLY? Grammy has proven they know nothing about music by stealing two away from the FRAY and giving them to hack bands. While "You Found Me" is, like other reviewers have said, not groundbreaking, it is a solid new song from the group that gave us a truly groundbreaking work with the "How to Save a Life" cd. I found this song to be a second tier Fray work, a notch lower than "Over my head", How to save a life", etc. but on par with their other work which up to this point is about 5 times better than almost any band working right now. So don't whine about how this isn't the Song of the Year, because even if it was, the American Music Awards would just blow it again. Bite me Grammies- really, The Black Eyed Peas. Grammy you suck!

The Music Gets Lost In The Lyrical Finding,
By

After their surprisingly massive success with "How To Save A Life," AC radio is still feeling the after-effects, as the album more or less defined the genre. So how do you follow you AC masterpiece? I must admit, the task is far from easy. They start by expanding on their trademark piano rock, and again tackling the theme of finding lost people wondering in the world. Lyrically, it may be unoriginal, even for the band, but it does do its job. Issac Slade's vocals also sound as good as they ever did.Unfortunately, "You Found Me" seems to have lost the flair that made "Over My Head" so well-done, and "How to Save a Life" so poignant. Instead the song comes out a bit tiresome, and overly boring. Sure, there's nice lyrics, but this song quickly wears on you, and I see myself despising this song a few months from now. So, if you like what you hear on the radio, then by all means pick it up. To me however, the song disappoints, and provides yet another sleepy moment on the radio. Positive and Forgettable all the way. |
