Having never worked in law enforcement, I was skeptical when a friend loaned me this book. What an unexpected treat to find my attention arrested and handcuffed by retired LAPD Officer Bowen from the Introduction on. By page 16, the tears had started to run and I was howling out loud, from police hilarity. I recommend this book to anyone who has managed to love their job in spite of difficult customers, unsupportive managers, and eternal confusion over what The Big Picture is or why anyone in their right mind would try to fit into it.
