5.0 out of 5 stars You have the right to remain VIOLENT!
X-Cops is prolly one of the better GWAR side pojects..the music is a little more serious unlike GWAR or DBX....the music is much more hardcore...most of it's growling speed metal into somewhat of a highway rock sound...good stuff....nowhere near as silly as GWAR or Brockie's stuff..but there are a few chuckles in here...and Brockie provides them...musicaly this is some...

3.0 out of 5 stars It's good
Well, I search this record many years but it's difficult to get in Colombia, It's a good piece of 80's hardcore, but too short, as 80's hardcore piece.

5.0 out of 5 stars they line up around the block to suck the ghost of hitlers ?, June 21, 2002
This review is from: You Have the Right to Remain Silent (Audio CD)
If you know gwar then you know what youre getting. comprised of the members of the aforementioned as well as kepone (or so i think), this album is a festival of violence as well as kick ... musicianship. If i had to suggest the best time to play this it has to be when your in your car and want to tear it up. just put on the instrumental "tune up time" and youll be hitting warp speed in a flash. Deep Purple never "shot you in the face" but they may as well have due to the superior (as well as lyrically enhanced) version of "highway star" <--- a song to help you be just that. As a New Jerseyan (huh) i love the synapses of my home state on the tune "welcome to new jersey" they sum it up and make known our continental blackballing by singing "they got the giants they got the jets they got it all but they get no respect" speed metal at its finest by some of the most underrated goons in the scene ...

4.0 out of 5 stars X-Cops-'You Have The Right To Remain Silent'(Metal Blade), July 15, 2005
This review is from: You Have the Right to Remain Silent (Audio CD)
'You Have The Right...' is actually better than what I had expected. As most of you know, this was a Gwar side-project. X-Cops have sort of come up with an all new (for them anyway)view of life, an extremely dark and devious look at law enforcement. Alright! Someone had to do it, right? With tunes like "Cavity Search", "The Party's Over", "5-0", "Third Leg" and "You F**ked Up", I have to admit 'You Have The...' is quite fun to listen to. About as heavy as Gwar. Give it a shot, see what you think. Mature audiences only, please. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars good stuff, September 15, 2003
This review is from: You Have the Right to Remain Silent (Audio CD)
SICK group comprised mainly of the good ol' boys of GWAR, X-Cops somehow manage to get more brutal than the band that spawned them. Orr's snarling vocals go along with the million-mile-an-hour drum blasts, accompanied well by Brockie on bass and Derks on guitar. Imagine death metal, thrash, punk and speed metal rolled into one blistering experience and that's what X-Cops are. The high points, in my opinion, are the eerie "Cavity Search" and "The Party's Over," for lightening up the pace of the album for a minute or two, plus it's got a killer bass line. Right to Remain Silent is a must for any GWAR afficianado.

I really enjoyed this CD. This CD is as good as the music that they make for GWAR, only louder. I highly recomend it. If you like GWAR, you'll love this.

4.0 out of 5 stars X-Cops: More Fun Than A Barrel Of Teargas, September 7, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: You Have the Right to Remain Silent (Audio CD)
I agree with everything my good friend CadavR says about the album. If you love GWAR, you'll equally love X-Cops. And if you don't, they'll bypass the search warrent and well... you know the rest. Seeing them live is almost as much fun as seeing GWAR, but not as much blood, etc.... which makes one yearn for the spewing organs of arrestees and perhaps a few shirtless ape-draped drunk men onstage, yelling about how they were mistreated on COPS.

4.0 out of 5 stars Everyone's perennial favorites, GWAR, have done it again, August 29, 1998

As always, the people of GWAR have brought you the most offensive and delightful grouping of melodies available. X-cops is a must buy for anyone who loves GWAR. The new guy that is Beefcake the Mighty sings most of the vocals as sherrif Tubb Tucker and is pretty good (Not as good as Dave Brockie, but still pretty good). Highlights include Cavity Search, Zipper Pig, Cobb Knobbler (Dave Brockie on vocals), and Paddy Wagon Rape. This album is great, the live show is great, X-Cops is great.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC, January 25, 2011

A true classic written and performed by members of GWAR. One or more of the writers has axcess to inner information about police work and some of it's darker side that they have put to lyrics. Those lyrics had some of my professional associates and I rolling on the floor and noding our heads.

The driving sound and ear bleeding lyrics are not for kids. GWAR fans and cops, EX Cops or not, will enjoy this album.

I had bought this CD many years ago online because it was so rare and I am not disappointed. It is quite a different feel than gwar with a mixture of heavy comical metal, but still shines. Great buy, check it out.
