Dilba - an unknown Jewel, May 18, 2003

Having discovered Dilba's self titled debut CD 4 years ago I had quickly considered myself a fan. Having now heard "You and I" I may be becoming a fanatic! Dilba's heritage is unusual, half Indian and half Swedish, and her music is also difficult to categorise. Soft, almost folksy but with a self weariness and edge that ensures the music is never cloying. To say she is a cross between Paula Cole (Amen CD), and Jewel may give you a clue but probably doesnt do Dilba justice. The songs on this CD are definitely from a more mature singer songwriter, thoughtful,highly melodic and while no one song is a standout the CD is wonderfully cohesive. If you live in Scandanavia. Im not telling you anything you dont know...
