This is one of the best Christmas cds that I have heard. Peter Cetera's voice is up front and there are some wonderful harmonies throughout the cd. Many of the Christmas songs such as "Jingle Bells" and "Let it Snow" have a fresh sound. The musicianship is excellent and full sounding. The three originals on the cd are similar in sound to the songs off of his "World Falling Down" album. Great to hear new music from him.

Typical smooth Cetera sound covering some holiday standards and a few bits of new material. The band sounds good and not over powering like you tend to hear on some Christmas music. I thought everything blended together quite well. Really like the new material. Can actually visualize "the thing that santa claus left behind" changing colors. Hopefully his new material will be part of the "old standards" by the time my kids grow up. Okay Peter - time for Cetera's Christmas part 2.

I tend to not buy Christmas CDs from rock/pop stars as the singing and production tend to be kitschy. This one is an exception, and it's exceptional. I saw Peter last night on his "Christmas Tour 2004" performing songs from his Christmas CD at Border's Books. His voice still gives me goosebumps, he was funny, gracious, and was obviously having a good time.

I highly recommend this CD.

unlike other reviewers here, i had no problems ripping this cd. nice collection to mix with my other xmas pop tunes.

If you want to store digital music on a portable device, you will not be able to copy the disc using normal channels. You can make copy the songs onto your PC, but it will be in the form of protected WMA files. Using a reglar ripper like EAC or CDex will produce distored audio files.

Aside from that, it is a fairly decent holiday album.

I waited years and years for this!!! Peter did a great job not only re-working xmas songs everyone knows, but also coming up with new ones of his own. To see Peter perform some of these songs live was even better:)

It is almost impossible to read any review about a musical offering from a past member of Chicago without seeing comparissons made. This review is no exception.

First off, all of the traditional offerings come complete with somewhat traditional arrangements, though one will also find the traditional arrangements have been tweaked here and there.

The three new offerings on the disc are very good as well, as far as non-traditional Christmas fare is concerned.

Finally, Cetera's voice is just as good as ever and is a nice fit to the holiday music. I started listenting to this disc at the end of October/beginning of November and have been quite pleased.

The packaging is somewhat generic, but I do not believe this was a big budget production. However, just from listening, one would never know.

Now for the comparisson. The logical comparisson is with the Chicago Christmas offering. While I found that release quite enjoyable, I also found some of the tracks to be TOO updated, perhaps TOO stylized. I would definately not throw that old disc out by any means and will enjoy some of the uptempo numbers it does offer. However, Cetera's replacement in the Chicago lineup does not have the same vocal quality to offer as the ex Chicago member.

Bottom line, this is a quality item on it's own, rather or not those listening even know the history or band affiliation of this performer. The duets Cetera offers with Allison Krauss and Claire Cetera are top notch. This is also a higher quality offering than Chicago's Christmas disc. This disc would be a welcome fit to any holiday CD player rotation, Christmas party, etc. Granparents, parents, and almost anyone else can give this disc a listen and find it easy on the ears. The same cannot be said about the Chicago disc.

Peter Cetera gives his fans a real treat this holiday season with the release of his new cd, You Just Gotta Love Christmas. His smooth, rich voice lends an added dimension to old favorites like Santa Claus Is Coming To Town and Let It Snow, and the addition of Alison Krauss on Deck The Halls is a good choice.

Peter's oldest daughter, Claire, makes her debut on Blue Christmas with an outstanding vocal contribution. We'll be keeping an eye on her -- she certainly has what it takes to launch her own musical career!

The three new tracks on this cd are a special treat. From the upbeat title track to Something That Santa Claus Left Behind, listeners of all ages will find themselves toe-tapping and singing along. The emotional Alone For The Holidays covers the 'other side' of Christmas; loneliness and memories of better times. Although not your typical upbeat Christmas song, its haunting lyrics are nevertheless a touching finale.

Cetera's involvement in this release is evident from beginning to end. From penning the new tracks to overseeing the artwork (younger daughter Senna's drawing is featured on the disc itself), this project is obviously a labor of love.

Do yourself a favor and get a copy. This cd is destined to become a perennial favorite.

I love Christmas music & this is such a treat! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this CD. Peter Cetera & Tony Harrell have come up with a pretty phenomenal piece of work!!!! The arrangements are really fantastic & exciting! The original songs are classic. I look for a couple of those to become a year after year tradition. Every song really paints a picture! You can certainly tell that a lot of hard work must have gone into this. It seems passionate & very real. That only tells us that there has to be a lot of heart in this beautiful, must have of a Christmas CD!!! Thanks Peter Cetera & Tony Harrell.

This is an excellent Christmas Cd. The music is great for easy listening. Peter's voice is excellent as always. You can tell he put a lot of effort in this Cd as the arrangements are new and contemporary. I like his 3 new tunes, especially Something That Santa left behind.This is a catchy tune.
I must compliment Amazon.ca for such a quick delivery as I ordered it on Wednesday and had it the next day. Now that is service!!!!
