5.0 out of 5 stars Baby, let me tell you: YOU ROCK!!!, March 20, 2008

This review is from: You Like It Clean (MP3 Download)
Even thou I've already listened to most of the songs of the album in their embryo stage, I didn't expect SUCH an album. The whole work is GREAT. All the songs ARE great. These ones really send me thrills down my spine: "MILLION MILES", "YOU LIKE IT CLEAN", "WE BELONG", "NAKED TRUTH". Let me tell you something more: "YOU LIKE IT CLEAN" is one of those songs which grows and grows each time you listen to it, one of those songs which have that "something special": it's a pleasure to deal with such a masterpiece. The album was worth the wait. Oh, yes, it definitely was! Good work, Mrs. Saylor. Can't wait to see you live, now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Indie album EVER!!!, February 19, 2008
This review is from: You Like It Clean (MP3 Download)
There's something for everybody on Lynn Carey Saylor's debut album. What impressed me most about this album is the fact that not only can she sing, but she can also write great songs, too. She can have serious songs without being too preachy, and when it comes to ballads, they aren't over-produced monstrosities that can ruin the overall feel. And then of course, there are the classic rock tunes, which rock your socks off, as well.

This is a very impressive album, that's for sure. It has a permanent spot in my CD player, and is among my all time Top 10 Albums EVER. It's that good, from start to finish. I love the fact that she writes every song (with the exception of one) and they are all very relatable, because they draw mostly from life's experiences.

At first listen, you don't realize where the lyrics are going to take you in "I Wasn't A Friend," but boy does the song leave you with an important message, as well as tears in your eyes. The way the lyrics flow together is seamless, as we learn about the consequences of letting a friend drive drunk. Not only in trying to accept the loss of this friend, but also about the guilt and regrets for not having taken the keys from them.

You Like It Clean, might more aptly be named You Like it GREAT. It's hard to believe that this is only Lynn's first album. It is more than just good music. It is truly comprised of songs that are all about "Real LIFE Stories." She has a voice that can wrap itself around the lyrics, and draw you into the story of the song. It just gets better and better, with every listen. Lynn is keeping traditional life inspiring music, alive and well.

Occasionally one album can make a star. This should be Lynn's star maker; a collection of fantastic songs presented in just the right way, at the right time, when real talent really needs to make a comeback in the mainstream.
