Born before aerosol hair spray and color television, Mat and Pat (Matilda Throgmorton and Patricia Snively) grew up best friends in Buckjaw, South Carolina. They have never missed a church service and claim that this amazing feat has fueled them to write this book. Quilting partners and co-executive directors of the Ladies Guild at Buckjaw Community Church of the Everlasting Service, Mat and Pat took their observations from the fifth row pew on the left side in hopes to, in their own words, “straighten out these crazy misconceptions and outlandish ideas some folks have about the church.” This being their first published book (other unpublished works include: The Power of a Praying Mantis, and If You Want Back In the Boat, You've Got to Get Out of the Water), Mat and Pat pledge to educate, encourage, and laugh you into a better understanding of the church as they know it.
