I accidenatlly stumbled upon this album about a month ago online, and upon hearing the hook for "Tough Girl" I was instantly hooked. I ran out and bought it the next day and have listened to it nearly nonstop since. I'm simply amazed that this album has had no Marketing behind it whatsoever. This is the type of album that could potentially go gold or platinum if given the proper push. The songs are amazing, from the intricate guitar work, to the catchy rockin' hooks, great harmonies, and truly great vocals. It's very reminiscent of Queens Of The Stone Age, Failure, and Local H, but is also very uniquely Open Hand. The songs range from the anthemic punk of (Tough Girl, Tough Guy, Take No Action), to space rockers (You And Me, Kaleidescope), to hard edge metal rockers (Hard Night), even indie like (Her Song). This album has it all, and maintains to keep the same great feel throughout. It's just blows my mind that this band isn't just exploding all over the airwaves and into mainstream popularity. Get this band a new PR company and get them the attention they deserve! This album is just that damn good!

I first heard Open Hand about 3 years ago when "The Dream" was released. I was shocked and confused that such an amazing band wasn't getting nearly the attention they so rightly deserved. I was hoping to one day get to listen to a new album of theirs. Then I found them on myspace and was happy to find that they were still together (although that can be argued considering they are minus the original drummer) and that they had a new album on the way. I got hold of an advance of the album and was simply blown away. They had evolved into something much bigger than "The Dream". Don't get me wrong, their first album is quite breathtaking, and they can still pull off the old songs live, but the new album was just something completely fresh. I was advised that the new album would put the new Queens of the Stone Age album to shame and was glad to find the rumors to be true. There is not a bad song on "You And Me". Everything is worth listening to, it screams repeat. I won't go into each song and describe why it works and why I find it so beautiful, just let it be known that this band has something great going for it and is worth the listen. Try it, be surprised, or don't. It's really up to you. Hope you enjoy. Happy listening.

This album really blew me away. I downloaded "Tough Girl" and couldn't get enough of it, so I purchased the album. The songs are well crafted, and catchy. The guitar work is impressive too, I love the tone, and they way the riffs flow. Overall a great rock album. Personal faves include "Waiting for Katy", "Tough Girl", and "Crooked Crown".
