Cancer is preventable!,
By
This review is from: You Can Prevent Cancer (Paperback)
Everybody should read this book, as it will change the view that cancer is the luck of the draw. This book can teach you how to build the armor that will protect you for life.
One thing this book pointed out was eliminate the big risks first and you are well on the way. Worrying about mobile phone masts near our kids school counts for nothing if we take them to macdonalds and don't encourage physical activity. This is the third book by Dr Colgan I have read and I think it is the most complete, easy to understand and informative text of them all.

Breakthrough info "to die for",

This review is from: You Can Prevent Cancer (Paperback)
Cancer is a complex subject and this book has a lot of good info regarding its prevention. Michael Colgan has an easy to read style even though he covers a science based complex subject. I cannot say it covers all aspects of prevention but it has information that I have not seen elsewhere, so I am very happy I found it. The chapter on antioxidants covers the importance of "Mitochondrial Antioxidants". 90% of free radicals made in your body are generated at the mitochondria and ordinary antioxidants CANNOT neutralize them! It does not cover nutrition beyond cancer related nutrition and the role of vitamins such as "C" and "E" is not described in depth. If you add his book "Sports Nutrition" you will get a wealth of info of every vitamin and mineral to give you a more complete picture of nutrition in general.

For anyone who is seriously after optimum health, this book is worthwhile reading. Dr Colgan has left his sense of humour and cartoon drawings out of this book to concentrate on the vital information that we need to take on board to protect our health. Do you know that being overweight/inactivity is the second highest cause of cancer with the highest still being smoking? If you are overweight and you don't exercise then this might provide you with the inspiration to make a change. We don't have to slowly kill ourselves by eating the unhealthy muck that manufacturers are dishing up to us.
