incorrect tracklisting,
By
This review is from: You Said (Audio CD)
I have to point out that Amazon has the wrong tracklisting for the album "You Said." The standard tracklisting for this album (meaning, not collectors' versions or anything), is:
01 . You Said, You Said 02 . Rebel (With a Cause) 03 . I Dream, I Dream (Prelude) 04 . I Dream, I Dream 05 . We're Making Woopee 06 . Treat You Right (with Babyface and Color Me Badd) 07 . A Lovers Holiday 08 . Secrets 09 . True Lovers 10 . Don't You Deserve Someone 11 . Word to the Badd!! 12 . You Said, You Said [Extended Remix] I'll also add that this is a great album, and you should grab a copy if you can find it (it's pretty rare at this point).

Admittedly Jermaine Jackson's vocal capabilities are average, but with Babyface (and partners L.A. Reid and Daryl Simmons) producing the entire album, the melodies on the sweet ballads True Lovers, We're Making Whoopee and Don't You Deserve Someone are pure ear candy. The uptempo numbers I Dream, You Said and Word To The Badd are very enjoyable. The remaining tracks are all strong even the duet with Babyface. Why did this album fail? Maybe it wasn't marketed well or maybe Jermaine Jackson is hard to market. If you like Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill and you can still get your hands on this album, get it quick smart.

Jermaine does the New Jack Swing!,

This review is from: You Said (Audio CD)
Oh boy this coulda been dreadful but it isn't!As revered as
he is in the early 90's R&B scene Babyface tended to homogeonize every single record he got his claws into.Well thankfully Jermaine Jackson is a strong enough old school presence to shine right through this fairly thin production. The title cut is actually a very radio worthy song and with it's hard rock guitar "Rebel With A Cause" get's some ball busting vocals out of Jermaine. And "Word To The Badd",for being 100% New Jack Swing really does kick pretty hard.So even if 'You Said' has some of that clished, softy Babyface filler they great songs that are here are five star material.Anyway where is Jermaine in 2004?Haven't we waited long enough?

I really enjoyed most songs on this CD. I was happy when Jermaine was signed to LaFace. I had hopes that LA and 'Face would work their magic and lace his album with all jams. I mean, the uptempo songs are OK, but I luv the slow ones. Especially "We're Making Woopee" and "True Lovers." I think Jermaine is a better singer than Michael, but I like them both. Not bad....I just wish he had longevity with LaFace.

Being a Jackson fan, I just had to get this album to add to my collection. Although I got this CD a few years ago, I'm just now reviewing it. It's not too bad at all. I think this is one of his better CD's that I've heard.
