How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

2.0 out of 5 stars App and reviewers review July 29, 2012

Amazon Verified Purchase
Two things to be said. The app needs work and the self-promotion is cleverly disquised.
App:
Pros: it works, clean interface, straight forward game play
Cons: no screen rotation, no settings, one time one letter hint per word, devoid of a color scheme, un-original

Difficulty is not a plus in this setting and no effort to really engage the gamer was but forth. It is a bulk upload of pictionary words without clues.

Self-promotion is shameful:
Pattern of five star reviews are masked by "verified Amazon purchase" but with 15+ developers that contributed to them and looking deeper into "other reviews", "location" and "content you will see a pattern. Clever tactic to boost self-promotion but I would challenge those that don't normally write reviews to step up today and try the app and give an honest opinion as if they SPENT $2 on this app. Is it really worth your money vs. all the alternatives? Is it really worth $2 of fun?

My opinion was it is not and it now lives back in the cloud. Thanks for the trial though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Equally fun and frustrating July 30, 2012

I do enjoy playing this game app. Some of the puzzles are easy, some are challenging and others are downright impossible. Many of the clues are just too vague. Perhaps if there was an option to add up to 3 letters per hint and a settings menu that allowed for turning the sounds off, I'd rate it 5 stars.

I have never seen so many fake 5 star reviews solicited by a dev in any other app. One of their plants was even stupid enough to state right in the review that she was asked by her friend who developed the app to rate it from her Kindle!! (over on the free version of this app, where you will also find other reviews by friends intended to pad the ratings). When a dev has to pad the ratings up hoping to fool customers, it means even they do not think the app can survive on its own merits.

As far as the game goes, it really is ridiculously difficult to figure out three words of varying lengths based on a loosely defined (at best) category. Maternal type foods are tomato and holllandaise?? Are they kidding?? And the arm category would not recognize ulna, but instead, wing. The answers are not hard or for the more intellectually blessed, trust me. Has nothing to do with being SMART or having a superior vocabulary. Sometimes I found more appropriate words for the first word, but was not accepted because the creator had three OTHER words in mind. And the words are SO TOTALLY "OFF" for what you would "think" the category even is! You are not even told THAT!! You have to guess what the category is by the annoying cutesy titles. So if THAT is not known, how do know what category the words even belong to?

Also, I got a 1st word correct, had to leave the app for a few minutes, then went back to the puzzle and the first word was MISSING and ther were only 7 letters left to complete the other 2 words that added up to 12 letters! The UI is a little screwy. No mute button for the music in the is just dev laziness, as is not making the app go to the external SD card by default. And the ASK YOUR FACEBOOK FRIENDS button is a cheap way out of not employing additional hints as needed because they want you to post your frustration at not knowing the answer all over the internet! What are we, their PROMOTERS?? Nice try, devs. If you want the answers, go ask your friends LOL, cause you won't get them in the APP! Nice, nice try devs. The only thing worth posting on FB is that the app SUCKS.

Even with more hints given, it doesn't detract from the fact that the 3 words they chose are not always very good choices for the "categories" they chose, whatever those categories may be.

It's not TOO HARD for some people because of lack of intellect. It's just TOO ESOTERIC and often ABSTRACT, and definitely not always LOGICAL.

If you are thinking of actually paying for this app, you might want to read more reviews that more thoroughly explain the criticisms before doing so, because there are SO many obvious fake ones here. Apparently, one of the devs was asked why he posted the fake review, and he deleted it and then rated that customer's review as unfavorable. This is shameful behavior by a dev against Amazon customers.

We just deleted this app after spending way too much time TRYING to like it. It wasn't even fun on any level, just annoying like so many others said. I should havve listened to the REAL reviews before wasting my time with this.
