I bought the book and the information was helpful to a point but the title should have been: "You Can Find -ALMOST- Anybody" ... If you're are trying to locate a living birth mother and you only have her maiden name, chances are you will have the same luck findng her as I did finding mine... NONE. 5.0 out of 5 stars A great help in getting the ball rolling on any search, July 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: You, Too, Can Find Anybody (Paperback)
I bought the book when I decided I wanted to find my father. It became my best friend when I was down and gave me ideas to get me going again. I have never found my father, but have found out so much about him that no one could have ever have told me just knowing him. I would say it is a perfect tool in getting the ball rolling if you are wanting to locate anyone. I would never have known that I have so many rights without it. It is a very straight forward and to the point type book and in plan english-not all that legal talk.

This book I purchased about two years ago. I gave it to my dad, when it helped me find him. He is now looking for one of his brothers. So, needless to say I have to buy another one for me. Thanks for having this book

Excellent resource and invaluable tool for finding leads and digging up old records.

I currently have the 1994 edition, but I'm definitely purchasing the lastest edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for adoption searches too!, October 25, 2004
This review is from: You Can Find Anybody! (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book to help in locating birth families. The resources available go way beyond what an average person could even know existed. I highly recommend it for adoption searches.

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought it was great,., June 7, 1999

This review is from: You, Too, Can Find Anybody (Paperback)
I bought mr. culligans book from book express, it gave me so much information and was so helpful I am so close in finding my sister with the help from his book, but now i am at a dead end. My sister doesn't even know I exist, I have been searching for 10 years for her does anyone have any ideas on what i can do. Social security told me that my sister's mother is still alive and so is my sister but that is all the info they would give me. if anyone who reads this review can give me any idea i would surely appreciate it.

My sister's mothers name is Audrey Eleanor Maiden name Falteseic (married name to my father Hutchins) My father has passed away and he made us promise to find his first child i have been searching so long. Audrey, my sister's mother was born 8-31-1925 in Minneapolis, Mn she married my father 9-5-1944 in minneapolis, mn I have audrey's birth cert. marriage license but I can't find anything on my sister because all I know is her first name and that is Diane and i believe she was born in California (i think) around 1945-46 because that is where my dad and audrey was supposed to had divorced at. can any one help me.

Any way back to the book, like I said it was so informational, but i couldn't do lot of the things because I only had a first name, otherwise I know i would of found my siser with Mr. Culligan's book you to can find anybody, I still go back and read alot of it for refernce. Thank you for writing the book mr. culligan. And if you could help me find my sister I would be eternally greatful to you.

I bought the book and the information was helpful to a point but the title should have been: "You Can Find -ALMOST- Anybody" ... If you're are trying to locate a living birth mother and you only have her maiden name, chances are you will have the same luck findng her as I did finding mine... NONE. If you don't know your birth mother's approximate age or birthdate, where she was born, social security number, last known whereabouts, marriage certificate(s), relatives of hers, or cooperation from your own relatives... chances are you won't find her. If you're fortunate to be a guest on a Sally, Maury, or Montel show trying to locate a lost relative, that would be great. Otherwise, the author (Mr Culligan), refers you to a private-eye located in Miami, Fl. who was somewhat helpful in my efforts. Thanx 4 listening..... James E Burns: Richmond, Va. Although I knew most of the tips written here - from tracing my own ancestors, this book is informative and interesting and most people can use the ideas in it.
