Book Description

March 31, 2006
This is the very funny, true story of a math teacher who goes through the agonies and delights of learning to fly, then goes on to build a replica of a WWI fighter plane. He becomes part of the Dawn Patrol, a group of airborne lunatics who constantly challenge each other to strange types of aerial combat. The book is about the fun of flying and the joy of sharing that fun with family and friends.

If you enjoy aviation and you have built, or are building, your own airplane then this book is for you. Very well written with tons of humor throughout. For me it was a "I can't put this book down" experience.

Dick Starks gives a humor filled account of his love of flying and life. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially the banter between him and his wife. Good read for all who love flying and building kitplanes.
