In fact, I would recommend this book to ALL yoga teachers, even those who aren't ready to open their own studios.

"So You Want to Open a Yoga Studio" is right on the mark with simple, easy to follow guidelines and support for launching your own Yoga Studio. Not only would this book benefit anyone considering opening a yoga studio but, if you are a studio owner (as I am), it will give you important tips to go from striving to thriving. The authors, Andrew Tanner and Janis Bowersox, know what they are talking about! Invaluable resource!

This book distills the experience and knowledge of two established studio owners, which was a godsend to this yoga teacher who is in the process of opening a studio! The writing is clear and concise, and the authors provide their thoughts and recommendations on everything from financial projections, to marketing, to creating good relationships with teachers. I bought the book about six weeks ago, and have been using it to develop my business plan, generate financial projections, and structure conversations with my business consultant. This book is the only resource I've found that thoroughly explains the business side of yoga. In fact, I would recommend this book to ALL yoga teachers, even those who aren't ready to open their own studios.

For example, there is a large section suggesting that studio owners require their teachers to sign a non-compete clause. Where I live in California, such clauses are illegal and unenforceable for both employees and independent contractors.

I wish I would have had this book before we opened up our studio.
If I were to recommend one book to someone who was thinking of opening a studio this would be it.

Just wanted to share that I bought this book twice on Amazon because I lost my first copy and it was great! If you are thinking about opening a studio and are clueless (like I was) then this is perfect. I read this book twice then opened Unplug Meditation. We have been open for a month now and I just want to say thank you to the Author Andrew Tenner. If you are ever in Los Angeles, come by, visit me and see what an impact your book has made. I opened Unplug Meditation check it out. [...]
