Recently, it became clear to me that I needed to start a new phase in my life. I had a dream, and although it definitely had meaning and purpose, I lacked the knowledge and skills to "make it all come together".
Enter- "So You Want to Be a Work-At-Home Mom", and it's co-author Jill Hart.I have met Jill, and definitely was interested in her book after meeting with her! I have dog-eared pages, highlighted, reviewed, and prayed over this book. There are so many practical tips to promoting my business (a toughy for me), time management, keeping focused... so many issues and leads to getting further information as well.
I will be keeping this book as a reference, and when I get discouraged or lose my way, I will reconnect with it like an old friend.
DEFINITELY recommend!

I first met Jill Hart, co-author of So You Want to be a Work-at-Home Mom a couple of years ago. We were both attending a writers' conference and without ever having met me in person, Jill offered to pick me up at the airport. It is with that kind of generous spirit that Jill and Diana Ennen wrote their excellent guide to starting a home-based business.

Jill and Diana pull no punches. They tell you that you need to set your priorities in your home and your business. When they overlap, you will need to be prepared for the difficulties that arise. The authors encourage you to analyze your heart first. Have you prayed about becoming a CWAHM - Christian Work-at-Home Mom?

Then the practical questions. Are you self-reliant? Self-motivated? Self-disciplined? If so, this is the book for you.

Systematically, the authors guide you through the steps to being a successful CWAHM all the while keeping faith and family at the forefront. Charts, logs, and lists will help you stay on task, organized, and motivated. If you're a Christian mom thinking of setting up a home-based business, pick up this book and learn from two women who have successfully worked from their homes and generously help you learn to do it, too!

So You Want to be a Work-At-Home Mom is truly a must-have for anyone looking to build a successful Home-Based Business. Jill and Diane cover many stones that are normally untouched while giving a Christian mother's perspective on how to effectively balance both worlds successfully and easily. They give you plenty of resources that will help you grow your business that would normally take years to gather on your own. Not only will this be a permanent part of my library, but I am going to suggest it to my entire team as well. Thank you Jill and Diane for taking the time to share your knowledge. Definitely looking forward to more books from you two!

There were two things that I felt when I read this book. One was "oh I wish I had had this resource when I was starting out 25 years ago" and "oh my, that's a good idea I'll do that next". In otherwords, this book is appropriate for women starting a business or is involved in a successful business but needs some new update ideas. The writing is good, clear, well thought out, easy to understand. The chapters cover everything from how to determine if working at home is for you or just a wish, what kind of businesses are available, and if you have a web site presence, what to do and how to get it noticed, and to have an exit strategy if you need to get out of it. These ladies have successful at-home businesses so they actually know what they are talking about. That makes an enormous difference in the quality of the information and tips. As they point out, men may have great business ideas but they don't understand that you won't get anywhere phoning a woman during nursing time. They point out that it's important to turn off the phone, close the door and have family time. After all, that's why you want to work at home. There's even a page listing things that a home office requires and that buying them when school supplies are on sale is a great idea. As you can tell, I loved the book and gave it 5 stars.
