Faulkner's "If You Were Mine", made me laugh and made me cry. I stayed up half the night reading it. Having an elderly father to care for myself made this book come alive. Faulkner writes about real women of the past who share the same fears and hopes that women of the 90's do. I am new to reading romance, but if there are more authors like Colleen Faulkner, I will be buying a lot more. Realistic, entertaining, and heart-stopping. There is a surprise at the end, but I won't give that away. I intend to put this book in my library to read again some rainy night, and I won't loan it to my best friend.

This is the 2nd book I've read by Colleen Faulkner & both of them have made it to my top 5 favorite books of all time. Mercy & Noah make a great couple & it's hard not to fall in love with them. I really enjoyed Tinny & Jacob as well. Jacob is a smart little fellow, which you will see why at the end of the book. My only complaints would be that there was too much cussing for my liking & there weren't any surprises for me, which is why I couldn't give it 5 stars. It was just too predictable. I figured everything out right away because there were too many clues. Overall I really loved this book so I highly recommend it as well as Angel In My Arms by Colleen Faulkner.
