About the Author

Nancy Loewen has written more than 60 childrens books on a variety of Topics, including insects, money, natural disasters, character development, language, and more. Her books have received awards from the American Library Association, the New York Public Library, and Parents Choice. Four to the Pole! (Linnet Books, 2001), a young adult book co-written with polar explorer Ann Bancroft, was a Minnesota Book Award finalist. Nancy lives in the Twin Cities with her husband, two children, and a very demanding cat. Her children hope that the cat will allow them to get a dog someday.

Nancy Loewen has published nearly 100 books for children. Her books have received awards from the American Library Association, the New York Public Library, Parents' Choice, and the Association of Educational Publishers. Four to the Pole! (Linnet Books), co-written with polar explorer Ann Bancroft, was a Minnesota Book Award finalist.

Nancy has a B.A. in English and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Hamline University. She lives in the Twin Cities with her husband, two children, two cats, a chubby beagle, and an even chubbier guinea pig, who likes to nibble on her toes while she writes.

I teach first grade and my students loved this book! It is a creative fun way to introduce pronouns. The students loved the illustrations as well! All teachers should have this in their personal library!

I thought I would use this book as a starting place for my kindergartener -- I think he is ready for the parts of speech.

It turns out my third-grader is completely captivated -- that's a great book. When the big kid reads it to the little kid, we have a winner.

I think the illustrations are simply amazing -- they carry the learning to a much deeper level.

Nice that there is an activity at the end of the book for the kids to do.

I also recommend verb, adjective, and noun -- I have all four.
