5.0 out of 5 stars ALBUM REVIEW-- ROCKS!!!!
I work for a country station in Memphis, and Andy stopped by. He is incredible!! He gave me the cd like a month in advance. And the entire thing is unbelievable! It's about time some new artist comes out that can kick it a little bit. And that's exactly what he does. He knows how to Jam! He has a Travis Tritt sound to him, that outlawish country. 3.0 out of 5 stars HEART POUNDING MUSIC WITH A VOICE TO MATCH
I never really paid much attention to Andy Griggs before. Oh, he's good. For his age he has a very mature sound. Now the kicker. Every day in the rush hour traffic KYNG (Dallas) would play I'LL GO CRAZY and every day I would turn the radio up louder. This is a hard driving sound and Andy should do more songs like I'LL GO CRAZY so we can play them REAL LOUD like they...

He just has a great sound!! HE was also an extremely nice guy. I don't know waht the hell that guy before me was talking about, he hadn't even heard his songs! Trust me, I've had the cd for a month and have listened to it non stop!!! IT's one of the very few cd's I have that I like EVERY song on it!!! Trust me, this one is well worth your money!!!! IT goes from the outlawish sound of "ain't done nothin' wrong, to great love ballads, like "YOU won't ever be lonely" and "She's More" He rocks the house with "A side of me" and "Ain't livin' long like this". The duet with Waylon "Shine on me" shows his gospel side. After all he used to be a christian artist. "WAitin' On sundown" is a great song about abuse. which is a good tempo song. "I don't know a thing" is one hell of a song. I mean any song with the words "carborator" and "penicillin" in the words have to be a good song about a heartache. And of course the cd starts off with three uptempo songs that make you want to come back for more! THis is the best artist in a long time!! THanks Andy and keep jammin' and crankin' out the hits!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Andy shows potential on new album, May 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
Andy Griggs has a nice roughness in his voice - and that's very appropriate for the outlaw/country style he does. The first song, "You Made Me That Way," is an energetic song that has an Eagles feel to it. The second song, "I'll Go Crazy," uses its title phrase in a clever fashion. "I Miss You The Most" doesn't really stand out much at all. Really, it's just a typical Country look-back-at-youth-and-love song. "You Won't Ever Be Lonely" has a fine melody, but Andy's capable of better things than that. "Waitin On Sundown" and "Shine On Me" are absolutely amazing songs. On "Waiting On Sundown," a great outlaw-like guitar riff goes with the breathtaking story of a guy who wants to save a woman from abuse. "Shine On Me," the duet with Waylon Jennings, is traditional country at its best. Andy doesn't quite stand up with Waylon, but their voices sound good together. "Ain't Done Nothing Wrong" has a clever theme about the person not leaving the married woman (thus not doing right), and not getting intimate with her (thus not doing wrong.) "Ain't Livin Long Like This," the closing song, gives Andy a chance to show his vocal range. Andy deserves to be doing well with sales of this album like he is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Andy Griggs - You Won't Ever Be Lonely, May 15, 2000

This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
I think that this album is the best. The song "You Won't Ever Be Lonley" is so sweet and it means a lot to any girl that hears it. The song "She's More" has so much meaning behind it. I think that it is so sweet that a guy could love a woman even though she isn't the woman of his dreams. This song is exactly about that. Andy Griggs is a really talanted singer. I love his voice. His voice also has a lot of meaning, which makes the songs on this album even more powerful. The song "I'll Go Crazy" is a really good song. It's up-beat and fun. It shows that he would go crazy if his woman should ever leave him. It's short, sweet and to the point. The song "A Side of Me" is true. Every person has a wild side, which they don't want someone certain to experience and no matter what they do, they will never leave that person. The song "I Don't Know A Thing" is about a man trying to find a cure for a broken heart. All the medicine in the world and all the mechanics can't fix a broken heart. Finally the man went to a girls home and she said that she couldn't help him either. I recommend this album to any one. It is great and one of the sweetest and heart-felt albums out on the market today.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bold, passionate and entertaining album !, April 11, 2000
This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
As a recent convert to country music, the first two albums I bought were Andy Griggs (You Won't Ever Be Lonely) and Lone Star (Lonely Grill). Both were fantastic additions to my CD collection, with Grigg's debut album being a standout. Watch out for the duet with Waylon Jennings (Shine on Me),"I Miss You the Most", "Waiting on Sundown", and my personal favourite - "She's More".

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, November 6, 1999

This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
I too bought this cd just for one song "You Won't Ever be Lonely" but I now LOVE the entire CD. I am the type of listener that usually won't by CDs because I normally hate to listen to the same singer over and over. Andy Griggs' is an exception. Now this is the only CD I listen to and I listen to it over and over and over! I very rarely turn on my radio anymore. Each song on this CD is great and I love to turn it up and sing along. I can't wait for him to release a new one! Way to go Andy Griggs

This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
You don't have to be a country music fan to love every song on this CD. Andy has put together the most stirring collection of songs on a single CD that I've heard in a lot of years. He covers a lot of muscical ground with each passing tune. The first track, YOU MADE ME THAT WAY, is a great introduction into Andy's style. It moves. It's fluid, has excellent instrumental backing, and his knack for choosing just the right wording becomes immediately apparent. The second track, I'LL GO CRAZY, has a great take off rythum, and from there it just builds. Listen to the subtle keyboard work in the background, along with the running guitars. It's great stuff! Track three, I MISS YOU THE MOST, is mellow, winding memory that takes you back a ways and slowly rolls you forward through the years. If you've already got a few years on you...you'll get a nice feeling from this tune. Track four is the title song, YOU WON'T EVER BE LONELY. This song is headed well up the charts, and for Andy's sake and for all his fans, I hope it hits the Number 1 slot! Few love songs come at you as straight on as this one. It's got a nice glow to it. If you're clueless as to what that means, well...you're on your own. Track Five is a great song about escaping from misery. WATIN' ON SUNDOWN has a rolling beat and a deep guitar lick that carries the song from the beginning of this tragedy to it's happy conclusion. The sixth track, A SIDE OF ME, is a Andy's way of letting you in on his early years! I DON'T KNOW A THING, the seventh track, is one of the most creative and touching love songs I've ever heard. A young man with a broken heart searches everywhere, except the right place, in pursuit of the answers we all ask at one point in our lives. This should be released as a single!! Track eight, SHINE ON ME, is Andy's duet with Waylon Jennings. This could be a classic in the making. Listen closely for the weeping guitar in the background. Some of the best I've heard in years. AIN'T DONE NOTHIN' WRONG, track nine, is a bright light shining on a very dark subject. This song says a lot in a few short minutes. One of the most important songs on the CD debuts in slot number ten. SHE'S MORE is a deeply moving and insightful look into the soul of a man who knows exactly where his heart is, as opposed to where it began. Track eleven, AIN'T LIVIN' LONG LIKE THIS, sums up the "Livin' on the edge" lifestyle in short order. I can identify with much of what he says and I'm happy to say I survived to look back on it. But, just barely. All BS aside! I haven't been this excited about music in a LONG time. And Waylon, if you're really the one behind Andy's acceptance into the recording industry, well Waylon...Here's to You. We owe you a lot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, August 9, 2000
By
This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
This album is awesome! That's the only way to describe it. I'm surprised I waited this long to buy it. I've been a fan of Andy's since first hearing "You Won't Ever Be Lonely". Then of course, I loved "I'll Go Crazy" when he realeased that one. But what really persuaded me to purchase this album was the fantastic song "She's More". The music and words to that song are so absolutely breath taking. Not being able to wait any longer, I purchased the album. After listening to it straight through several times, I've come to the conclusion that "Waitin' On Sundown" is quite possibly the best song on the whole album. It's very rare to hear a male singer shed light on the dark topic of domestic violence. A lot of female country artists have addressed this subject (Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, etc.), but the effect that Andy produced by singing that song was amazing. Sure, there a couple of mediocre songs on the album, but overall, the songs are excellent. This is one album that EVERY country music fan should buy. You'll love it. "Waitin' on Sundown" alone is worth the price of the album, not to mention the rest of the great music on this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, Real Country....A "Must Buy" CD, October 21, 1999
This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
I bought this CD after hearing this unique singer on the radio. I really got my monies worth on this CD. EVERY song is great - see prior reviews for specifics. I can't keep it out of my CD player. From the first song, you know that you're experiencing a fresh (but still country)sound. The the music, lyrics, and unique sound of this record makes it a winner. If you have only two CDs to buy - get this and Alison Moorer's Alabama Song. That's all you need for a true country fix!

5.0 out of 5 stars How good it Gets, July 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: You Won't Ever Be Lonely (Audio CD)
While some people may be fooled into thinking that Griggs is just another pretty-boy-turned-cowboy crossover,he is actually one of the most talented new artists on Nashville's country music scene. While his good looks certainly don't harm, his true country vocals are amazing. If you have liked any of his singles, which are awesome, listen to the other tracks on this cd. You'll be amazed! Griggs has a natural country sound that you expect to hear only on proven artists' records. The songs are exceptional, the music a mix of tight guitar and flowing ballads. If you were left stranded on a desert island, this is one cd you'd want to have! For those of you who like true country, contemporary country, or touching, ballidic country, this is the cd for you. It has all the aforementioned and more, from a tasty sleeve to a sound that will leave your ears ringing for more.
