Great read aloud to the 8-10 crowd which you can follow up with YouTube of the event and an extensive wiki entry on the controversy. We are using it for 20th century history homeschool, 4th grade.

Oh, and after viewing the video, google "oh, the huge manatee" for a lesson on word play, and how time changes a cultural interpretation of a thing. Could you imagine a spoof on this the year it happened?
