Andy Butler began his motoring career as a vehicle technician, then sold VW and Audi cars, and is now a writer. He contributes to a wide range of motoring magazines, and built the long-running MkII GTI project car for Golf Extreme and Car Stereo magazines. He lives in Halton, near Lancaster.
