A child's book...,

This review is from: You & Your Jeep Cherokee: Buying,Enjoying,Maintaining,Modifying (Hardcover)
This book had little to no useful information about actually working on or modifying a jeep. It reads like Chryslers propaganda glorifying the Grand Cherokee with out any facts to back it up. This book is trivial at best and grossly miss titled. In short I feel dumb for even buying this book and advise anyone with serious questions about the vehicle to look elsewhere. But then again maybe I'm being a little harsh; it might be an all right coffee table book or a piece of bathroom literature.

Simply put....the author doesn't even realize that this book is about a GRAND Cherokee...not a Cherokee. That should clue you in as to how good the book is.

I wrote this review because the other 2 were so low. This is not the book for you if you want to turn your Cherokee into a monster truck. It is for you if you are thinking of buying a Cherokee and want more information. It was published by Haynes so it is no surprise that it deals with Jeeps in England. This book has lots of pictures illustrating the history of Jeep with special emphasis on Cherokees and what we in the US call the Liberty. It talks about the diesel options available in Europe. It is light on how to info, but there are lots of clubs and after market companies for that. It may not point out all the flaws but again you can get that info elsewhere and can you really compare reliability data for an "off road" vehicle with standard vehicles. A bit of translation is needed but it has lots of useful information for a would be buyer. I would rate it a 4 because the number of books on Cherokees is limited.
