Fabulous solution to storing spices,

I'm an avid cook and had an entire kitchen cabinet devoted to spices. It was such a pain to pull down bottle after bottle to find the one I was looking for (Murphy's Law=It's always in the back). I had way too many spices to store in a counter-top rack. This was the perfect solution for me. I'm only going to add comments I hadn't already seen, or to disagree with some reviewers if I thought their comment might keep someone from ordering the rack.
I think the plastic is fine. As a matter of fact, the rack is heavy enough that I almost wondered if it was partly metal. I guess if you were really rough on it you could break the shelves by yanking on them when pulling them out, but normal care should prevent that. Fully loaded, it's pretty heavy and that keeps it from tipping forward. I also lowered one shelf in my cabinet so that it's close enough above the rack to prevent the rack from tipping forward- even though, as I noted, I don't really think there's much risk of that. One thing to consider is that if you have a spice cabinet with a rack on the door, which takes up space when the cabinet is shut, you really need to measure to make sure this rack will fit with the door shut. Also, if you have European style hinges (the kind that take up space on the inside of the cabinet so that they don't show at all on the outside of the cabinet) you need to measure the interior dimension of the cabinet to make sure the rack has clearance from the hinge. I still need the spice rack on the door of my cabinet, so I had to do some rearranging in another cabinet. One thing I liked, but didn't notice until the rack arrived, is that it comes with pre-printed labels, but also with plenty of blank labels so that you could make your own labels, if you wished. If you're a little obsessive-compulsive about all the labels matching, there are enough blank labels to make all of them yourself. The label sheet would also go through a computer printer, and has a label type # to help you format and print the labels. I'm not that obsessive-compulsive about it, but if you are, now you know that you can just go right ahead and be OCD to your heart's content. I find absolutely nothing to complain about. It did seem like a lot of money for what is essentially a plastic box, but I sold myself on it when I realized that having one would keep me from buying duplicate bottles of expensive spices. That's something I've done more often than I want to admit. So for me, this rack actually saves money, organizes a cupboard (leaving more room for more cooking ingredients), and keeps me from getting annoyed. I'll never again have to ask somebody taller to reach a bottle of spices, or have to pull six bottles out to find the one I want, or discover that I've got two or three duplicate bottles and wonder which is freshest. It's a win-win situation all the way. **** UPDATE: It's now June of 2011. I have had zero problems with this rack, and would buy it again. It's like new, despite being fully loaded and used daily. I'd still give it five stars. Since I bought it I have not purchased a single expensive duplicate bottle of spice. I have not once run out of a spice because I see every bottle every day and so I get a daily reminder of spices that are running low. Even my husband, (whose organization method is "shove it wherever you can cram it") puts my spices back where they belong because every space is labeled and putting it where it belongs is now the easiest choice to make.

This was a wonderful solution to my cluttered spice cupboard. I had been using a lazy susan, but it was over loaded and some of the spices would fall off behind it making it hard to turn. I also ended up crowding some spices in front. It was a headache to dig out rarely used spices from the back.
With this product I eliminated all of my cluttered spices AND have only used about 50% of the capacity of this item. It is sturdy and easy to use. It holds the small, medium and large spice containers well, but I have one extra large spice container (the largest seasoning salt container) that doesn't fit in this rack. For 95% of the spice bottles out there you'll be fine.

This spice rack saves space in my kitchen cabinet, and makes finding spices while I'm cooking SO much easier. I have had no problems with the quality of the materials or breakage, and I use it daily. I plan on buying another.

Love this product...,
This product satisfies both my husband and I--which is a difficult task in itself. My husband (the Food Network geek) is obsessive about keeping our spices in a cool, dark place. I am tired of digging them out of a box we keep in the cupboard and looking at them one by one to find the one I want. He wouldn't agree to different types of spice racks that hang on the wall or sit on the counter. The ones with tins (approved by his beloved Alton Brown) are expensive and time consuming considering that you have to empty the spice from one container to another. With this product, you get to keep your spices in their original containers and you can look at 8 at a time. I pull three drawers to find something I normally have to pull 12 jars to find. I read reviews that you can pull it down on yourself rather easily. If you only pull one shelf out at a time, that doesn't really become an issue. If you place it on a lower shelf in your pantry, it helps as well.

We have only had this for a month but so far so good. I only wish I had ordered two!! NOTE: to anyone purchasing this. Count and sort your spices (to see what you will keep) before ordering. I can see where other reviewers mentioned that the tabs are made of plastic, so we will just be careful but otherwise it has been great for the month it has been in use. HINT: We had extra room at the top so rather than wasting the space I cut up the box it came in and made another "drawer" on the top.

I've ordered three. two were broken, as were two replacements they sent. Fragile plastic breaks and can't support the weight of the drawers and spices. They were really nice about sending replacements and refunds, though.

This product was worth the money just because of the space I saved in our kitchen and because we were buying the same spices over and over again because we couldn't find the ones we had. One word of advice, if you have a lot of spices in the heavier glass containers, I wouldn't put too many of those on each shelf. The plastic trays seem much more stable with less weight.
I would buy it again, though!

I almost didn't buy this product because of some of the negative reviews, but I am so glad that I did purchase it. It is a solid, sturdy product, and am surprised that several reviewers called it flimsy.
Before purchasing this, all of my spices were in a large plastic basket, where they were jumbled up and hard to find. This spice stack makes it possible to access your spices quickly and easily. All of my spices have fit into it, even though I have a rather motley collection of jars from various brands. It also comes with a pre-printed sheet of labels and one blank sheet of labels that you can add to outside of the drawers. I ended up alphabetizing my spices, so I'm not sure that I'll use these stickers, but it's a nice feature. Also, a few reviewers complained that when you tip each drawer down (as shown in the photo for the product), the stack is wobbly, but I have not experienced this at all. Each of the three drawers tips downwards so you can find your spices, and even though my drawers are almost all filled, they are very stable. What is really nice is that the drawers pull out so far that you don't even need to tip them down; I can easily access the spice jars in the back rows just by pulling out the drawers. This handy product has made our pantry so much tidier, and it's great! Highly recommended!

Spice Storage Solution,

We are renting a home in Germany and since we're only here for a few years, we don't have the option of finding everything we want. So, we ended up with a fairly small galley kitchen. I've been frustrated by lack of good storage, especially for spices. My Spice Stack now sits on a narrow and otherwise wasted counter space next to the stove. It's handy, keeps the spices out of bright light and is well organized. There was no breakage during shipping and it appears to be pretty sturdy. I've used each of the 27 "round" spice slots. A few oddly shaped spice containers won't fit, but I already knew that. This fits the majority of store bought spice containers. Yea!
