Sounds new again,

After working with Ella Jenkins music for many years, (still using the original vinyl records) I moved to a new school with absolutely no resources. After spending days looking around I decided to buy an assortment of Ella's CD's, we have just had the most marvelous year, her music today is as fresh now as when first recorded, everyone at my new school was astounded with how much fun and success we had, my five year olds put on the most amazing music concert, with one conducting and the others divided into groups, playing numerous instruments and singing in rounds. Ella thanks for helping me give these children such a fun and sound foundation in music. Susan Fell, Melbourne Australia

I was so excited when I found this cd on amazon today. I had been looking for it for years. I didn't know the artist, but I did remember it was a red cd with a song that went "You sing a song and I'll sing a song in warm or wintry weather." My brother and I heard this cd in preschool over and over again and loved it. It is cherry and simple- not a ton of instruments (mainly a guitar) and not tons of kids screaching at the top of their lungs. I can't see this cd driving any parent crazy. I also fondly remember the song "Miss Mary Mac". Parents, get this for your preschoolers. They will love it.

Excellent for Children to Actually Sing Along With,

This CD allows children of all ages from 3 years old to 7 years old to actually have a slow enough pace to repeat what has been sung to them. You do not have to keep playing each line over & over in order for the children to be successful. I am a speech and language pathologist who usually has children who stick-out like a sore thumb in class productions because they cannot keep up with the others. With this CD, they do not have a problem. All children enjoy the songs and want to sing along. They imitate many different sounds that can build on their phonemic awareness, which in turns helps them listen and discriminate between sounds of the English language. This aids them in learning to put sounds together to talk better and read better.

Hiyo!,

My almost-two-year-old has a favorite song from this tape which he likes to hear about 300 times a day. He has made it his mission in life to inform everyone he knows of this song's existence, and he's even discovered that every car we pass on the street has a stereo which could theoretically be used to play the song, if he asks insistently enough. So I guess you could say he likes it.

I listened to this record at Montessory School as a child and adored it! The songs are beautiful and Ella Jenkins is a phenominal entertainer. I still remember all of the words and love sharing it with my 15-month-old. This is a fabulous CD (all of hers are) and I cannot recommend it enough. It is one of the few CD's for children that you won't get sick of hearing as a parent. Enjoy!

My "kids" are in their 30's and having children of their own and I want to pass on songs from their childhood to the grandchildren. Our original copy of Ella in on an LP, what is that you say.......a record and it is worn out. I am ordering a CD, which will hopefully be around for a while! K:)

I am a kindergarten paraprofessional and this is a fantastic CD. You will be amazed at the children's reaction to it. They will want to sing it all the time. You will catch yourself singing time and time again. A perfect rainy day activity or a calming down activity. If you have a few minutes at the end of the day it is a great filler.

The children in our Montessori classroom know this entire cd by heart! We went to see Ms. Jenkins live and they were thrilled to see her sing the songs they learned prior to our visit. The tempo, lyrics are just right for our 3-6 year olds! Please buy it, it is money well spent!!!

I have taught pre-school and Head Start for many years and this is one of my children's all time favorites. When it is on as background music they often start singing along. "Did you feed my cow" is often requested on a daily basis.

What a Great Album!,

This terrific album was recorded by a Ms Ella Jenkins of Chicago, Illinois. When I was 3 years old, My parents and I lived in Evanston, right out side of Chicago. My Mother would always take me to the Public Library every week to check out books. And she'd always check out a children's record. Two of them were by Ella Jenkins, this one and I know the Colors in the Rainbow. We Taped them on Dad's stereo so my sister and I could listen to them in the car. Well, after many years, my sister and I have outgrown these tapes, but I kept them, and even copied them onto blank tapes so I could give them to small children. I have not met Ella yet, but I swear that someday I will see her in concert.
