Product Description
Danielle is eager to follow Raven, who is now an official yearling, to South Wind, where he will begin serious training as a racehorse. Danielle's best friend, Julie, already has an after-school job at the state-of-the-art facility, and Danielle tries--unsuccessfully--to hide her growing jealousy. Danielle is determined to land a job at South Wind, too, but when her grades start to slip, her mother swiftly puts an end to that idea. Danielle doubles her efforts at school, but just as she's finally catching up on her studies, Raven suffers a baffling injury. Will Raven's entire racing career be over before it even gets started?

2.0 out of 5 stars Not faithful to Alec and the Black, April 22, 2000
By A Customer
This was an uninteresting book. I loved reading about Alec Ramsey and the Black Stallion, but these books just don't cut it. The plot is predictable, the style is babyish. It's just not worth the [monry] I put into it. Most horse series these days are becoming dull and boring, and this is no exception. I realy wish authors would get creative instead of shooting off sub-series from the original ones! Mr. Farley, you could have done so much better than this!
