Get Some "Young Bloods",

This review is from: The Young Bloods (Audio CD)
"The Young Bloods" is a very typical and very enjoyable Prestige jam session. It was recorded on November 2, 1956 and features Donald Byrd on trumpet, Phil Woods on alto sax (these two are actually listed as co-leaders), Al Haig on piano, Teddy Kotick on bass, and Charlie Persip on drums. There is nothing extraordinary on this session, as it is a straight ahead blowing session of the period, but it does find all players in top form. Interested parties should act fast because this limited edition disc has recently gone out of print -- "Young Bloods" is dying fast.
