A Young Children's Concert With Raffi [VHS]

We watch this several times a week with our 2-year-old son, and we're not deadly sick of it.

Provides the best of our two fave Raffi tapes, Baby Beluga and Singable Songs for the Very Young. I was afraid my son wouldn't like *seeing* Raffi after hearing him for so long -- maybe he had a different picture in his mind -- but he LOVES the video, and still loves the tapes we play in the car.

You won't be tempted to hide this one, or restrict repeat viewing. It's good for the kid, you can tell! They jump around, participate, learn the songs, and have fun. He's already learning to play guitar!

Also like Raffi in Concert with the Rise & Shine Band, but it's not quite as good as this one.

Our family loves Raffi, and we want to share him with you. His songs are really silly, great to sing along with, and never seem to get old - even for us adults. We have all his tapes in our car, and the children ask for him every time we are out. His songs are just right for little people; nothing else can compare. Our kids love his music so much! I am so grateful we discovered his music.

This concert is maybe the best tape or CD he ever made. It's so silly and entertaining for children, and captures live why Raffi has such a magicical spell with young children. We have it taped (stereo) for the car and listen to it over and over.

Our other all-time favorites are Singable Songs for the Very Young (with a Peanut Butter Sandwich) and Raffi in Concert with the Rise and Shine Band, but we love them all (except the stinker Raffi on Broadway). There are a dozen other great CD's from Raffi to choose from, and any of them will do nicely with a peanut butter sandwich.

This is a really entertaining video that, best of all, involves young children. My kids, ages 3 years and 10 months, absolutely love Raffi and whenever this video is on (which is often), they are entranced by his gentle, engaging demeanor and catchy, easy to sing and dance to songs. My 3 year old knows most of the songs by heart (even one partially in French!) and loves to touch Raffi on the screen to hug him. My 10 month old bounces and tries to clap along with the songs, especially "Shake My Sillies Out." I highly recommend this video to all families - even the moms and dads will be singing along "Down By the Bay!"

My two-year-old son LOVES this video. It's so simple- just a man and his guitar singing silly songs that kids love. It's a nice change of pace after today's children's entertainment, which tends to be so over-produced. Raffi just has a way with kids! Watch out, though- you'll find yourself singing Raffi songs all day long!

My three year old son loves Raffi....My only complaint is that I could not find an audio CD version of this tape. Something about Raffi's voice really gets my son's attention...he gets up off the couch to sing and dance with Raffi. Sure beats listening to Barney!

I was sorting through family videos today. Some, that I had put aside years ago. I came across two Raffi tapes that had been true family favorites when my kids were toddlers to preschoolers. I was going to send them to my nephew who has a young son. My kids now 12 and almost 15 begged me not to give them away. My 12 year old was so overcome with joy that she actually had tears rolling down her cheek as she watched the tape. This one is a keeper, it always feels like a warm fuzzy blanket when you listen to Raffi! I now have to order some for gifts!

My son is 14, mentally retarded, hyperactive, with autistic tendencies. Therefore, he has a very young sense of what he likes and dislikes, and tends to fixate.

We've had this video for over 4 years, and I don't mind my son fixating on it -- he'll watch it 5 or 6 times in a weekend. Even though he can't repeat all the songs, he tries, and loves them. And I haven't been driven insane yet!

Forget all the hyped-up, fast-moving children's entertainment out there.... It takes a very special talent to entertain children these days, especially with a simple guitar on an otherwise empty stage, and Raffi has it in spades! This man's love for children is entrancing, and he has had an endearing effect on all 5 of my own. If I could recommend ANY video for children in the vast world of entertainment today, it would be this pure and simple stage performance. This one has staying power! My family has loved it for years!

This is the first video my very active 2 1/2 year-old son will actually sit and watch(okay, sometimes he stands, dances, etc. while watching it.) The songs are adorable, and most importantly, they're not patronizing or obnoxious, as I've found other child-oriented entertainment to be.

Our family has fallen in love with Raffi! My son actually broke into tears yesterday when the video was over.

Not only has my son loved this from age 6 months, to present (16 months), I love it too. Very wholesome. My son is mesmerized by his voice. We own the video and cassette, as well as another book. I have sent this video to several friends as gifts. You won't be disappointed. Be sure to sing along. Your kid(s) will love it.
