This quilt book is aptly named. The colors in some are very bright or very wild but there are some in softer, more subtle colors. There are 15 quilts patterns of which six caught my attention.

There are eight pages of general and finishing instructions to get you on the right path to making your quilt. Each pattern has a full color photo of the finished project. It also contains a materials and cutting list, instructions on making the blocks and assembling the top and how to finish the project. There are illustrations which show in greater detail what the instructions are telling you.

Any templates that are needed to create a specific quilt are provided at full size. There is no need to run out to the copy shop. A six-page gallery show several of the quilts in different colorways which can help to spark a color idea for your particular tastes.

The last page gives a paragraph bio about author, Julie Popa. If you have a flair for the more off-beat type of quilts, this book will give you plenty of ideas and could even spark a creation or two of your own.

Julie Popa's YOUNG AT HEART QUILTS offers up fifteen designs to add zip to modern décor with new twists on easily-stitched quilts. Bold colors make for a fine blend of simple patchwork and raw-edge applique in an excellent creative presentation.

The book is well written and has wonderful displays of all the quilts in different colors! I definately recommend this book for all quilters.
