This review is from: Young Inventors at Work! Learning Science by Doing Science: Grades 4-8 (Paperback)
This book is full of fun and educational activities for science exploration. I was fortunate to attend a workshop conducted by the author, Ed Sobey, and immediately found the incredible value of teaching science through invention and "design challenges" as I have come to call them in my classroom. My middle school students LOVE the challenges and are always actively engaged in my lessons. They are learning while they are having fun. I then tie the science concepts back into what we have done and they GET IT!!
This is a great investment. Try it out and challenge your children to use the scientific method to design something. :) |
